yeah you can get a simple on/off light timer for under $10, don't waste your time trying to do that manually everyday.

I used to get up at 10:00am, unfortuanly my new closet grow has been waking me up at like 8:15 with those GD lights. I tried to close the door, but it gets to hot in there. So, I guess i'll be getting up early for another few months.

haha i feel exactly the same way, I have too usually keep my door open slightly atleast when im sleeping... to keep temps down, i have an oscilating fan blowing 24/7 on high when the light is on.

its a 400 watt mh about 16" from the top of my biggest plant... its pushin it kinda... thats why i have to make suree it stays coool..

But it keeps me up haha sometimes...

Btw... im not rocking a timer either, I would... But i have a 3 prong ballast cord and my timer is 2 prong... gay, i need a new one...

anyways, ive been running 24/0 usually turning off the lights at around 2:30... anywhere from 2-3 is good... think about if your plants are just getting sun from the sunset, or early morning... usually the sun doesn't hit the plant anyways... so your fine, IMO, how my plants have grown.. with atleast 18 hours, usually dark periods of 2-3 hours a nite, sometimes they got a full daylight... a while back, but my babies have been through alot it seems like..

anywhos. good luck

you can get an adapter at walmart, or any hardware store that turns a 3 prong into a 2 prong, they are about $1 us......

if you are keeping your door open to allow for ventilation be careful not to allow light to hit your plants during the dark periods.

So you want him to run his 400 watt MH lamp on a simulated ground? lol thats priceless, those plugs just make your cord think its being grounded when its really not...

I think he would be much safer to buy a grounded timer.... don't go the cheap way, your gonna burn down your house....

I snipped the ground off my Balles cord. I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you have a grounded Surge protector in line with it.
