I snipped the ground off my Balles cord. I wouldn't suggest doing it unless you have a grounded Surge protector in line with it.

Still thought... how is that ballast grounded if you "snipped" of the ground???Grated your surge-protector is, but not your ballast.....LMAO, i am surprised there not more, "burned my house down today" threads on RIU(guess the computer would burn too but you get my point!), we have like people cutting ground prongs off ballast cords, and people telling other people to use a conversion plug instead of getting a gounded timer... i mean come on people, theres places to be cheap and places not to be....electrical is one not to be.

oh come on now... high wattage electrical equipment and loads of water... what could possibly go wrong?

I know of several grow-ops that were closed down because of fires. The firemen will call the police and you will get busted. This should be enough incentive to learn electrical basics before messing with it!

yep - and whatever you do make sure you are gripping something metal and not wearing shoes while standing in the puddle of water leaking from your res!

Gosh folks - 420inmyapt is right - please be careful with electricity. The best thing that can happen is a small fire which gets you busted. now if that is the "best" thing that can happen ... imagine the worse...
