Yes it should be leagal. Everyone should watch The Union: the business behind getting high. Great documentary, with lats of facts behind it. The Gov should tax it and it would help drive down pharmaceutical drugs. Prescripton drug prices is mostly what everyone complains about with this whole health care reform. Legalize it and natrually the free market will drive prices down.

Um heroin dude thats your argument lol.. Anyway during the 30s and 40s hemp was a 1 billion dollar industry. Dont forget as i said that spirits which is booze is a 150 billion dollar indusry a year and so would marijuana. Hemp production would be around the same or more. Which means legalizing it would allow farmers to grow the hemp not marijuana plants that could produce rope, clothing, personal products, and many other things. Legalizing it would make a quarter of a trillion dollar industry each year. Thats alot of taxed money. If you guys need a historical video saying that it was a billion dollar industry back then i can post it.

Marijuana should definitely be legalized, it is so harmless and useful as a plant and as a drug.

So your saying all drugs should be legalized....

This is entirely a individuals belief in this article...Yes if you want to get meth and H you can but you do have to stoop to a level that requires you to search for it in areas that most people do not know about. And no it would not benefit society, it would hinder and harm it. Drugs like that are addictive much more than many people find pot to be. Its something that if legal will be available wide spread. You ever hear of the opium wars. Almost destroyed china because people became so addictive to it cause it was so easily bought, and now if you even posses and form of illegal drug you are in jail for a long long time in china.

Leave it up to the persons discretion then you are not taking into consideration most peoples morality between right and wrong. You can not say that legalizing drugs that have shown such extreme addiction amongst the users that do it that its safe for the populous. Alcohol is legal but yet you see how many people go to rehab for it and imagine a drug that is 100 times more addictive like heroin and meth and crack. You think that those drugs would be ok for general population

Legalize marijuana, and give alcohol more stricter rules for purchase and consumtion

Your obviously not concerned about where your lifes headed. Not to be a dick but most people are and those hard drugs are just a escape for people who are not satisfied.

So many drug companies would lose many profits. That's less people in the drug industry, less scientist beig hired and probably less funding for research. Legalizing it would not be good at all. Clothing,ropes, and other accesories aren't important because cotton is readily available and is more forgiving to your body in hot weather. Really no point in ever legalizing it. Don't forget marijuana causes loss of memory overtime which would mean less kids going into college because they hardly remember anything. Or much less kids going because marijuana makes you feel lazy and let's face it lazy Kids don't study to the degree that they would if they were sober. The result in 50 years is a nation run by the kids who smoked pot and are less educated than other nations. This will make the us lose it's super power rank. Don't forget the universities losing big money from a growing generation of people not attenting college. I love pot but it shouldn't be legalized ever.

And yes in 10 years I'll be one of those big company chairman investing in marijuana attack campaigns if the result of legalizing it will hurt my companies profits. I'll also be toking up in my boardroom after everyone heads home. God I love pot

why would marijuana effect the medical industry at all. it doesnt do much except allow appetite for cancer patients. And Also hemp used to make extremely high quality paper better then wood. There are many more products that hemp is used for. I dont agree with the memory loss comment at all. Alcohol creates memory loss and it kills actually more brain cells then pot does, just imagine if you ever black out and didnt pass out. And what do most college kids do like 4 times a week... They drink just like i did just like most do while in school. But yet it didnt affect the growing rate of people attending schools and even more so now furthering there degrees with MBA's PHD's etc. Its not about the idea that since its legal waste your life away because you have nothing to work for. And i dont know about you guys on this site but i know alot of people who have done great in school and college and have become very well off within the business world, and they smoked pot for a long long time.

and cotton is not the easiest breathing material, synthetic materials actually breath much better then most... Polyester etc

No offense to you but your argument does not make sense. I am not doubting that you may be a professional. Pot would not affect most businesses but they would just increase exports to other countries. Hemp does not contain thc thats why most people can use hemp shampoo, body soap... Even outside the USA. But to say you would toke up in your boardroom is just stupid. Alot of people have self control when dealing with pot...How old are you btw.

I definitely don't think marijuana should be legalized. It makes you stupid, lazy, and turns you into a loser. Not to mention how bad it is for your health and all the problems with addiction that would come if it were legal. Do you really want five year old kids to be able to walk into a grocery store and come out with a bag of pot and bringing it in their lunch box to school? Next thing you guys will be saying we should teach our teenagers about sex and give them condoms and birth control!!

I would like to say that Marijuana does not make you stupid. I'm a high school student and I've been smoking Marijuana for about 3 years. This past year is when I started smoking regularly and my grades have never been better.

Now I'm not saying that Marijuana makes you smarter, but in Texas we have a TAKS test in which we must pass in order to Graduate from High school. I took all 4 tests and passed each one. Saying Marijuana makes you "stupid" is just ignorant. If a person is going to fail, then that person is going to fail. Cannabis has no effect on the way you learn.

As for the Legalization/Decriminalization of Marijuana, at this time I feel Decriminalizing it would be nice. I don't mind Legalization though
