Do you have to use a Sun System Socket with a Lumatek?

home depot won't have a socket that will match either buy a cord/socket set or buy one of these and splice it to your cord. cut the end off and splice the adaptor to your cool tube. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics...tek-ballast-to-sunlight-reflector-p-2113.html

I would not have bought that one. I know it was cheap. Here is the thing, For the RF sheilding to work and yu need that with digital you need a coplete sheilded cord. Yu have to take out their socket and put it one you buy from a hydro store with cord and socket attached that has lumatek compatible plugs. They are not not normal hardware store design. I dont know how easy it is to get their socket out. good luck. Check out bghydro, they are good.

Thanks for the info tea tree! I never knew that I needed a shielded cord. That's my bad! I'll jst end up buying a complete system off of ebay ( You know, ballast, socket, bulb + crap reflector). The socket on the cool tube will def take some finesse getting out, but I'm confident it can be done. Oh well live n learn.

no prob, another good way to get a good deal on a cool tube is to use htg's eBay items and action. I got my 8 in cooltube with cord and socket attached for 60 dollars! new from htg. They got good ones. My in was 70 but still chepaer. For my Lumatek I bought from mgs supply on eBay, the store, with an econo batwing and two bulbs and my 600 luma for 289! MGS supply is cheapest on eBay and it has the lumatek guarante

Nice deal! Under $300 for a 600 watt lumatek system. The best I've seen for a 400 watt lumatek system is $169 w/ $19.99 shipping. Wish I had noticed the cooltubes on HTG. I've def bought off of them on ebay before.
