Do you believe in God?

the big bang created all the elements needed to form life (as we understand it) hydrogen, nitrogen etc etc. thats the stuff that all living life is made up of. remember that many of these ultra-osmological biological facts take million - no billions of years to deveop.

Ask anyone who beleives in the bible : How old is the earth? Reply : about 6-10,000 years old (thats what the good book says), well we all know that the earth is around 4-5billlion years old! We have several atomic clocks that all point to the same date.

earth was around, shit dinosaurs were around,many many many thousands of years before the idea of god or a creator.

i've seen some of the myriad of entities that surround us... ephemeral (inorganic) beings. both benign and malign. i guess you could call them 'angels' or 'demons' but i don't think of them that way, because our nature is as varied as their own.

i'm deffinitely pro evolution from single cell organisms.

but i have never experienced or seen the 'One God' or the 'One Devil'. even the bible said, 'thou shalt have no other gods before me'. before christianity many believed (and many still do) in multiple gods.

Are there creatures or entities with greater knowledge and power than i possess or ever will possess even after death? undoubtedly.

but as far as i can tell, if there is a 'God'... then we, along with every thing else, are what constitutes that god. we are all just different faces of the same God. okay, so maybe we're more like the zits on God's Ass, but you get my meaning

whats i have found amazing (since growing weed) is the diversity of nature and all its wonder. I mean just growing something from a little tiny seed, it makes me humble. To watch a living organism grow and change in front of your own eyes is incredible. I can wait until i can start cloning and inter-breading cannabis. It is truly fantastic.

Darwins intial 'theory' of evolution (now of course proven with the knwoledge we have of genes) is probably the single most important discovery in human nature. We have an understanding of how things work around us because of Darwin.

I find it criminal that schools in both the UK and US concentrate so little on evolution and natrual selection in science teaching.

i think as humans the problem with the two biggest questions in life (where did we come from? and what was before the big-bang?) is that the answers dont correspond with the way we like to think. Many people cannot accept that we started as a single cell organsim, they say "how did we get so complexed"? - its evolution. The church often behold the human eye as something that only god could create. Well we know that the eye has evolved atleast 5-8 times in the past and to be honest its less than a perfet instrument. Why do we have a blind spot?

As for what was before the big-bang, we live in a concentina universe. it doesnt have a start and finish - something many people cannot understand.

In science the whole process, the whole idea of science is not to take one bit of evidence and accept it, its testing, testing, trying, testing again - and always re-testing and checking the evidence.

One last thing (now ive got it out of system) - i appreciate the good book doesnt have to cover everything in history, but for something which has been hailed as the 'be all and end all' i still cant understand why the book doesnt cover things like the dinosaurs, the ice ages etc and the Cosmos. I mean in terms of universe we are tiny and so insignificant.

There is no god that we know of,but there IS an Earth, and if anything deserved to be worshipped, you'd think it was the very thing that allows your existence in the first place..........

I agree with this ^^^ I believe God started the big bang. How else could everything in this known universe be once smaller than an atom? I believe that was Gods seed to start everything.

I guess I'm a nut but I believe We are part alien. I believe aliens eventually colonized Earth some time ago and evolved into humans. Ever noticed how aliens look similar to Us except skinnier and whatnot? I believe they are skinnier because theres not much gravity in space and thusly don't need to use as much muscles. Aliens could help explain how the pyramids and whatnot were built back thousands of years ago.

So the Earth is about 5 billion years old, but the known universe is around 14 billion years old. Theres a lot of time that the Earth wasn't even around for and I'm sure there are much older solar systems that could have developed life before Our Earth was ever created.

I give it another couple hundred years (or less) until people start gentically engineering their children.

I really have always had a beef with these patriarchal religions though.Do you realize that the oldest religions are matriarchal,or goddess worshippers?And the men who made Christianity, Islam,they destroyed these religions to keep woman down?So I'm saying folks who are in these religions aren't even on the right path if they think of a god without a goddess at least entering into the picture.

I'm sure it will soon become standard procedure to genetically modify children. Once I have kids I would love to give them wings, and better everything if given the chance. And then My children would have the same option, furthering the exponential advancement of evolution.

i had a 'christian' trying to convert me the other day, i was like, what about all the native americans that believed in Mother Earth? I am not a religious man, but there are definitely Supreme beings. The universe is so big, nobody can comprehend it. There IS something out there. Without a question.

As far as what happens after you die, heaven/hell. I guess it would be cool to go on, but if we dont o well. Its your fault for not making the best of your time. But im sure something happens. I'm in no hurry to find out what that something is.
