I've just changed my pots yesterday as they was root bound, but before I did I noticed yellowing starting and a tiger look to the leaves.

I posted and people said N deficiency, I fed and the leaves still look the same.

Will the transplant do the job?

and if so does that mean the problem wasn't N but the pot?

Thanks guys

Here's a few pics of the plants in the old pot

It may have been that the roots where not able to get enough nitrogen due to being rootbound. It can also be through watering too much as well.

A fresh pot with some room to breathe for the roots will certainly not do any harm.

Good luck.

You shouldn't feed when transplanting...just water in and then wait til the next cycle to feed if need be.

Im having the same issues with a cheese I been neglecting. leaves are deff showing signs of a deficiency. and the growth has almost stopped. I should pull my thumb outta my ass and repot it. I have a 3g smart pot i was gonna toss it in.

Does anyone slice into the outside of the root ball to promote new growth? iv tried it a couple times lately and have not seen any negative side effects from doing it.

i dont, i just repot it, kinda like massage the sides of the dirt to loosen it up some then water.

as missnu said, water only until up and running and perky.

as far as slicing roots, I tend to give the root ball a gentle rub rather than slicing in. But again, I would of thought it will create further root branches so in the long run no harm I would guess either.

peace, dst
