I would say hell no...
If you disclose it, you will be shot down immediately.
If you don't, then you have the chance that they do not do a background check.
Hopefully they just pull credit..

it depends on what the felony is for, I would have a friend call in about it saying they have whatever felony you have, and ask if that would get in the way. If they say yes, lie your ass off, if no, then tell the truth, because if you withhold and they find out about it, even if they would have worked with it before, they damn sure won't then.

If it was 7 years ago, I wouldn't mention it. It may show up, but then again it may not. A lot of searches don't go past 7 years anyways. I'm a felon myself and I know how it feels to have to keep paying your debt to society over and over again after it has already been paid. When I moved into my place I lied on the application and then the landlord found out during the check. Afterwards, she asked why I lied. I simply told her that I was tired of being denied housing because of one bad decision that I made years ago but have since learned from that mistake. I told her she could talk to my probation officer who would vouch for me, which he did. Amazingly, the landlord went ahead and let me move in.

i would say most of them are motivated by one thing, getting that rent. if i were in your position i definately wouldnt mention it, and i would sugarcoat. for ex. i would say i have first last security, and i might pay some months ahead just because you want a good cushion:wink:

in my state, they do background checks mostly for sexual felons, i own houses and, i am sorry, i wont rent to a sexual felons. i feel obligated to the folks that live around my houses to not rent to them.
