Do I use paint or Mylar

i looked for good shot of set-up, but all are old, or close-ups of bud. i'll do a photo shoot tomorrow, as long as you don't laugh at the ScrOG Cave.....lol. i grow in a dungeon.
 
Thanks for the info people. I'll give you a idea of the new setup. It will be a 10ft x 10ft. Insulated walls. Vertical bare globes x 5. 4 plants. The room will be totally built by me. Still deciding on painting or Mylar or both. Thanks again for the feedback.

cheap mylar sucks black and white poly is much better. as gas tanker said cheap mylar has to be stretched tight to be effective and the diamond pattern mylar isnt so cheap, but it the best stuff around.(better than paint or poly) but this is the order of the best reflective surfaces IMO; diamond/pattered mylar coated fabric, white paint(some whites are better than others)good mylar sheeting, white poly,cheap mylar(Christmas wrappinglol), foil.

Good list i forgot to mention the diamond pattern I like it.

Well I think that depends on what thickness of mylar your talking about gastanker .. I agree with the 1ml the light penetrates it like you say , but if you use the 2ml, which is much stronger with no light penetration, you dont have to worry about a gap behind it and its easier to work with.

My pics were of 2mil mylar.
 
orca film 11mm thick,like heavy duty panda film.hang it up using 3m super 77 spray.tape the seams with white duct tape.easy to clean,lasts forever.keeps the smell in.

I did use a tent on my first grow which I wasn't to impressed with as had issues with sound and smell and heat, stealth is priority with my second grow. But I did produce just over 2lb from 4 plants using 2400k. And with the new system I'm doing my 2.4 x 2.4 x 2 tent just won't cut it. Still deciding on paint or Mylar but now also looking at poly. But might have to eliminate Mylar to much trouble than it's worth from comments on here. Thanks again all for your input.
 
Mylars fine, don't believe all your read. If you had it some people's way you'd have your grow room chromed for chrissake... Either go to Walmart or if your not in a rush use ebay and get some emergency blankets and save your bud for good seeds.
