Up early to water. Today is going to be a heavy water and feed.

The RO filter took a crap half way through so i had to drench them with unfiltered tap water. I am not too worried as i have another filter on the way before next week.

Last week washed my old empty 1 gallon jars with dish soap and let them dry. I then used a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean out any remaining oils and possible contamination. I let them air out overnight and then capped them. I have about 20 1gallon jars with lids. I will probably need about 10 more, but we will see.. Each one gallon jar holds about dried quarter pound. I do not like to use larger jars as the risk of loosing a half pound due to contamination is disappointing. Rotten/mold/mildew bud stinks! I have been thinking about ways to nitro pack them but pressurizing glass seems like a bad idea.

For the past few days i have been working on the processing room. I got everything moved out or boxed up. I started by wiping all the walls and tops of shelfs and stuff with a mild bleach solution. I then cleaned all the windows as well, the fan, and the spider webs. I then cleaned the AC unit; condenser, filter, evaporator, and over all apparatus. I then tested it for 5 hours. It kept the room cool when day time temps were 95F so i think it will keep up. I then vacuumed off the room and then halved off the room with an old book shelf.. I plan on using the book shelf to hold the turkey bags of curing bud after they have done initial hang drying and trimming. I started to stretch out string across the room for hanging but ran out. I have also have cut heavy duty painters plastic to cover the carpet. I cut it large enough so i could staple it up the side of the walls about 10 inches. I will have to whip and vacuum everything up at least one more time. I ordered the turkey bags and curved nose trimming scissors. I will need to get a decent amount of rubbing alcohol to soak gummed scissors. I need to get a little table to put in there for trimming. I already have trays to trim into.

I am pretty much ready for harvest. I want to pull out the green house plastic and give it wash, but its my birthday is today so maybe next week. I don't think any rain is forecasted..

Some friends from the next town over are throwing me a pizza a beer party. Pretty excited about that. :bigjoint::dunce:bongsmilie The VA sad i had to loose about 10 pounds, i have already lost 15, so i think i can break my diet for one night :fire:

Did a bunch of trimming today. Removed yellowing leaves and other shading leaves. I removed inner larf sights and checked stuff with the hand scope. Things are looking and smelling good.

I the plants have really responded to the flood watering on Sunday. The buds are really pluming up .

I checked the sites where i pollinated from my PC male and they look like they have taken well to it. I was able to collect and freeze about a teaspoon of pollen from the clippings i took and isolated.

How's the labs going. Have you seen an improvement using it?
So far i have used it twice. This last watering and feeding i gave them about a half a cup of activated concentrate to 5 gallons of water with bloom nutrients. I believe it has helped push them into flower. I haven't used it before, but i have grown the PEC strain from the same batch of seeds. So i think i may have some bit of reference.

Happy Birthday dude! Great work on the plants so far
Thanks man! I have had more time than usual to tend to them. This has also been a smaller grow (number wise) than years before.

For all newbies with dreams of commercial sized yields the frost time around, a small word of advice from experience. I have NEVER bought seeds or clones from a seed bank or supplier/dispensary. I have always acquired seeds from bag seed or from personal reputable contacts. Why? Try getting you money back from a dispensary or seed bank. Near to impossible. They will even insult you and say that you are lying or worse call you some sort of hack. Dealing with people that put their reputation on the line for good product is something you can trust, not some glorified drug dealer's baby mama selling you bull shit behind a glass counter with a zero refund policy.

Why any would buy $20 a seed is crazy. $50 seeds, you are a moron asking to get ripped off, in MY opinion. I have seldom bought seeds that were over 2 bucks a piece, but i also buy them at 100-200 at a time and sort them myself. I believe this greatly increases my probably for large successful plants.

I will say the amount of mud slinging in the cannabis genetics world is astonishing. I’ll read about a breeder and people will talk them up, the. Read something else about that Breeder tipping another off, and I wonder is there no integrity here???

Hey dmannn, gonna do a test run on my first labs. Have any advice?
I mixed up fresh lactobac with a bit of molasses and organic bloom nutrient. Save the left overs in a 50/50 ratio of molasses/whey. I add this to bloom nutrient mix in 5 gal of water every other time I feed. So a typical monthly seclude will be. Once a week, Week 1: Lactobac, nutrient, water. Week two: water. Week three: nutrient, water. week four: lactobac, nutrient, water. Ect.

Heavy feed and water today. I flooded each pot with 5 gallons of mix nuturnt and water nat then 10 more gallons of filtered water. I left the dripper infer about 3 hours tonight. I picked up a quart of EARTH JUICE XATALYST. Smells a lot like the earthworm casting juice except a bit sweeter. I think i will use this later, in conjunction with raw honey to finish off the plants.

One of the girls has started to lean heavily to one side. I started to tie her in a corrected position. I have some bamboo sticks from a bamboo garden in the yard to help support her later today. They are taking on weight very fast, the buds are larger and more dense each day following the feedings and waterings. Touching them gets hands sticky and stinky. I think most of the buds will be ready before the end of the month. I am hoping that the weather/bug populations hold out. I am watching the trichomes and pistols/calyxs very closely and they are still far out, but things can change quickly. I will get some pictures up.

I did a bit more trimming of smaller shaded bud sites and yellowing leaves this morning. Hands, arms, clothing and scissors are getting sticker each day. Its becoming harder work with them without coming back reeking of dank. Lots of smells to rub sniff while sitting and typing; citrus, sweet fruit, danky, and strawberry ice cream. I have been cutting down some of the taller bamboo in the yard, for support as the buds continue to swell. The temps are still high 90's, the shade has been up. I watered only today, no nutrient. Each got a flood for about 1 hour. Since bud swell, the plants have needed to be watered a day earlier each week. It might get to the point where i have to water every other day if the heat keeps up. I have found that the plants prefer drip watering in veg and a flood watering in full flower..

The filter is about totally plugged i have been tapping it on the concrete to keep the flow up. Still waiting on the replacement. I have already back flushed it twice. Each time heavy rust and sediment has washed out! I tested the unfiltered water and it is too hard and high in chlorine. I tested the filter output and the filter seems to allowing more mineral PPM through. If the heat keeps up will probably need to water again by Wednesday. I will start cutting out bloom as the pistols retract back, then start adding more carbohydrate as the trichomes start clouding and ripening. It will be in form of molasses, Xatalyst, and finally raw honey with propolis. I have done a bit of reading on "finishing up" buds and i think this is the way i want to go. I think this is one of the things "top shelf" growers have been leaving out of their going guilds. Products like "humble honey" go for over 50 bucks a unit, that's just plain nuts!

If the plants stay at the same rate I expect to process about 10 lbs total out of 5 plants. Some plants will produce more than others. If largest one fills out and finishes better than expected, possible 12, but we will see..I have been removing quiet a bit of Larf for potency, but i plan on double harvesting at least 2 of the plants. Finally i have some branches that have been pollinated so i will need to keep those under eye so i get the most mature seeds possible. I am prepared to go later in the season if the buds don't ripen before a rain and cold spell cold comes. I plant on beginning major harvesting at the end of this month.

I plan on running the F1 and Feminized back crosses next year long with more local market seeds I acquired this year and will acquire this winter. Needless to say i will need to expand operations. We are planning on moving further north, if all goes as planned, we will have more space for this hobby along with an organic apiary and tree/clover orchard.

Sounds like the UPS guy just dropped off!

Plants look awesome dude. Can you expound on the finishing flowering nutes? Like those carbs, is it high K or like Kelp Meal? Black strap Molasses?

Earth juice make s product called Xatalyst. It smells like sweet worm casting juice and has about same nutrient value. Just outside of Chico CA there is a worm factory guy that sells something called worm juice plus that smells and bubbles almost exactly the same as Xatalyst. I think these products are the juices that are skimmed off the bottom leaching from the vermacompost piles. It probably contains some simple sugars, predigested enzymes, molds, and partially decomposed sugar alcohols. When comparing bud "sweetening" or bud "finishing" products they all seem generally alike with minor differences. It is known that flowering plants can uptake compounds that are water soluble. Dyeing cut flowers for instance, is one of these processes. People use molasses to pump up buds the last few weeks of flower.

I think that pumping the plants with a combination of these products: Xatalyst, molasses and Honey, the last two or three weeks, will dramatically increase bud swell, natural flavor and aroma. Possibly gaining just a bit more potency at the very end. I don't think it will hurt anything as flowering cannabis plants are dying anyway,

More trimming and tying today. There isn't much more larf to trim. Everything is sticky. The largest plant is filling in nicely. The weather forecast says high 90's until next week. I think think that the next two waterings will be the last of the heavy feedings with bloom nutrient.

IMG_4902.JPG IMG_4904.JPG A new hope! Two of the sites a sprayed with colloidal silver have developed some pollen sacs!
I think once they mature out i will clip these buds off and set them in water until they open, then collect the pollen like i did before in the trim room. I hope i have enough time.
