Not much happening right now. The plants are going strong. They have slowed down since the shade application. The soil is retaining moisture better than expected. I may not be able to feed as scheduled. I don't think the plants need it either. I will wait and see.

A couple pictures of my LAB progress. i put the dates on there for reference. The average temps are high 90's in the shade and down to about 70's at night. I took 4 days for the rice wash to turn. Kind yeasty smelling, kinda like baby formula, but a little spoiled. I mixed up the 2% milk today, part of which was on the edge of tossing out.

The plant is the PC. It has taken off! It was germinated late May. I have toped it a few times and super cropped a as well. Looks very open and branchy.

A picture of the LAB progress. Looks about done. It's building pressure and smells like ripe cheese. I will crack the lid to make sure it doesn't explode. I will mix it with Molasses tomorrow for preservation before feeding. I told my wife we were going to bring the curd to our friend's BBQ. LOL! All in all, not a difficult process. Did not really need any specialized equipment other than small funnels. I hope this helps out during flower as much as people talk it up. IMG_3486.JPG

The LAB is still cooking. I think i want to wait until it slows building gas. I wanted to water today, but we slept in. The soil moisture is still kinda high. Since the LAB isn't quite done, I can wait another day or so. I am very pleased with the moisture retention of the soil this year.

The AACT is a bit over due. I might just toss out the AACT on the rest of the yard and only use the LAB when it completes. I think I will apply the LAB with a light flower nutrient the first time around. I hope that the lab will help bridge the plants into flower as the light hours just changed over the hump.

I have been reading on AACT and bacterial applications in vegetative stages v.s. EM and fungal applications in flower stages. Think i may step back the AACT in favor of LAB applications. The dilution rates for LABs is a bit more manageable, is more fungal focused, and, i believe, will help me get the most out of the soil and bloom nutrients.

I feed and watered to day. The plants are staring to show some changes. Lots of hairs are starting to show! I went with a bit of earth juice bloom and kelp. I mixed up the LAB and some molasses and bottled it. I applied the remainder to the garden in five gallons of water. The LAB doesn't smell all that bad and is actually relaxing to deal with. I saved the kurd, rinsed it with clean water, squeezed out the juice and left it in a cheese cloth in the fridge. Here is a picture of the mixed up LAB/molasses. I will keep it in the fridge and use it with the rest of the feedings. I will get some pics of the the bud sites soon. IMG_3509.JPG

Are you supposed to put Brown Sugar in your LaB, because I didn't do it, just stored it in the fridge

Two pictures from today. Flowering is going full speed ahead on this one.:weed: The other 4 large plants are showing strong, but a little behind. The smallest is showing a bit as well. This plant was actually pulled outside about 3 weeks later because i hadn't sexed it yet. Of course it is the first to mature. I have ordered some colloidal silver and will be applying it later to the lower branches of a few plants in an attempt to collect pollen. If i do, i want to cross this plant back on itself and against two other plants, possibly. Enjoy!IMG_3686.JPGIMG_3678.JPG

Water and bloom feed today. I added 2 cups of bloom, one cup seaweed/molasses, a can of coconut water, and a cup of aloe to 5 gallons of filtered water. I also added a half a cup of Homemade LAB to the mix. The bloom nutrient and the LAB smell very alike..
I have a drip system and I move the dripper heads at least once a watering. Most of the pots were one the dryer side. It still takes about 7 days for the pots to achieve a low enough moisture content to water. I think this has worked out well for my soil health. As the plants take on weight, they will probably need to be watered every 3-4 days.
The weekend has been cooling off. Next week looks like low 100's. There is a lot of smoke in that air from the fires, but still far away from here. I hope this cooling trend will give everything a break. The shade is keeping the stretching down. I stopped topping about 2 weeks ago. The netting is keeping them upright and stable. I might need to add another net as they gain weight. I am still a month away from major light shift and the plants are putting on more pistols everyday.

Here are a few pictures from today. Last night, after sundown, the plants went really limp. I was a bit scared but they seem to have perked back up this morning. I gave them a really heavy watering with the heavy feed. Today, all look very healthy and you can see the similarities of the plants in the front (SD) (3 PEC/PC are blocked). All have a same distinct growth pattern all three are budding now. Some of the plants have the purpling stems at the new growth sites, this may be because of the lacto PH. The "smaller" one to the left was most effected by white flies. You can see the stretching that has taken place since they have begun to bud.. The one in the center was topped very heavy two weeks ago in order to slow the heat stretch, it has made a unstoppable come back. You can kinda see the PEC and the PC on the background. I pulled back the shade since the temps are down because of the smoke. I have some family by Clearlake :(. They called in case they have to evacuate here. There was a fire up there a few years ago, the woods around the foothills never recovered. NCA is in bad shape right now.

Yeast is a awesome adititive , be very careful on the molasses, it sounds like you are, the sugars are to just feed the beneficial bacteria ,
If you use to much mollasas it can drive the PH down screwing up your plants. I do try to help other growers with advice from my experinece to help them avoid any cost mistakes , the bloom cycle starts around the first of August , this Is when you will see a explosive growth of stretch ,
I may be preaching to the choir but I would rather you have to much I formation then not enough ,
The same with anygrower who might be following your thread if the information is not simple and explained , .
Ahead of time , it is your grow you are the captain of your own ship.
And advice I give is from experience, I am however no where near your grow to see first hand what is going on,.
Sucanat is I better alternative to mollasas in my opinion . Mollasas is fine though just do not over do it,. Even by accident

IMG_20180303_112012828_HDR.jpg wildfires in California are insane, most of this is caused by so called environmentalists not allowing logging to be done, trees do regrow , when I was a child growing up in Oregon the greenie weenies bitched and complained about paper bags causing to many trees being cut down, Soo in order to shut these fools up everyone went to plastic bags , now they complain about the plastic bags not deteriorating,
Truly stupid stupid people that cause more harm then good.
Of you shoot a deer it helps think the heard and allows more deer to repopulate.
Now we have deer tearing up crops and staring to death because there are not enough hunters to thin the heard.
There are no real environmentalists who are liberal, their actions and policy's are more detramental to the environment then they do good. I hope you make it through this ok. People I know last year lost everything they had, some lost most but not all. Many a good grower was put out of business last year , between the government t regulations and the fires knowcked them out of the game along with the lower prices , many are done.

Thanks for the advise. I will keep it in mind.

You know what? I was just thinking the same thing yesterday! When I was a kid they started that paper or plastic stuff like in the early mind 80's. Even when i was young i thought how dumb..Paper is from trees..

I am down in the valley south of Yuba. It would be cool to met up some time. The fires are far from us. My cousins haven't called yet so i think they are still good up there. They said they had packed up the trucks just in case. Its seems like CDF has a good handle on the fires now that the sky is clearing.

I have been reading up about the new "regulations" I understand that sick people need clean medication. The problem is Outdoor pot is going to have to go underground again because of the new laws. The regulations have effectively created another black market not even one year after "decriminalization".
Right now Pot is going super cheap sure, but it is still selling. The prices in the city are outrageous. Not worth the money and trouble of fighting down to downtown, wait in line for a half hour, to get shitty over priced weed.. I can get a solid QP in 15 mins for 200 bucks now. The price of pot has been low since CO, OR, and, WA has gone legal. Down to 1000 a pound for killer out door, because all the traffickers have to bringing it from CA across the state borders. I have been to many legal states and OR takes the cake in price, quality, and availability.
I have a feeling the price will go up in backlash to CA dispensary regulations. Simple economics. Weed that passes inspection will become a super premium. All of the reject will become slightly less expensive but will be sold under the table. CA screwed themselves out of so much money because of the busy body nature of the legislative branch and the complete foolery of the governor.
I have decided to start up an outdoor Canna grow advice business. A couple people have emailed, but no serious takers yet. I don't expect to make a ton, but i would rather people grow their own then give money to the state at 30%

Anyway, nice chatting.

Sure, I am down for a meet up, it will be a couple of months before I get back to Cali, I am in Europe right now.
