DJ's LED medical grow

I've only sent A51(directly) one email, and it was returned with a phone call <15min later(warranty issue). If you want to read more about that experience, there's a link to a thread at the very beginning of this thread (page 1, post 1). I sent a PM to EH this week and it was returned within a day.


I filed a claim with USPS about the PAX. They said they would get back with me by the end of the next business day. That was ABSOLUTELY the WORST phone system and customer support I have ever had anything to do with. I got in an argument with the automated response system, all I wanted was a human being to talk to. It kept giving me the run around, and telling me, "We are experiencing large call volumes, and most of the issues can be sorted with this system. How may I help you?" I think I woke up my roommate with the "FUCK YOU!" I screamed at the time.
... HP tech support has an automated system that ACTUALLY WORKS, probably because they're not a bunch of whiny union rats.

I just was reading back when you went fron the 1L to 7.5L airpots and noticed your airpot walls are upsidedown the row of closed cones should be up top not on the bottom.

that always fucked me up, especially if youre smoking while transplanting. first few are ok but by the 4th pot i start fuckin up haha.

I have a stealth cabinet that I grow pot in with about the same dimensions as yours. I'm currently using fluorescents, because I thought it would keep the heat down. But I'm interested in this area-51 light after seeing the output you got in this grow. I get some dank weed, but your output is twice as much as mine has been. And the area-51 should be much cooler than fluoros.

I was wondering how your output this time compares to when you used HID lights. Is it better?

Hi Dj. Prosperian has got a single SGS-160 grow in its final weeks if youre interested in looking him up. he has done a really nice grow too.

PAX update: I still don't have it. I spent 22 minutes on the phone waiting for a person to answer, to be told "Contact the shipper and seek a resolution". I filed a claim, they were supposed to call me back the following day before 5pm. No phone call... life got busy, I had a real fuct up weekend (long story), I finally got in touch Monday, and they didn't even give a fuck that they(USPS) forgot to call me back.
I emailed the info and experience to Ploom, their response was that their customer service rep spent 30 minutes on hold, to be sent to a voicemail, and they(USPS) haven't returned his call either. There will be a resolution this week, I voiced my concerns and laid out exactly what my intent is going forward. Hopefully I still get a PAX out of the deal, I really would like to give them the free advertisement of having my friends all try it, but without one in my hands, all I have to say are negative things.

USPS can lick my taint, on this warm, sweaty fall day.

I did notice that, I actually cut the tips off all those points that were closed... AFTER a week or so. I think I may have made note of it in the thread, but I'm not sure anymore. I also put the bottom in one of the 1L AP's upside down too, but that's noted in the thread near the pics of relevant info.

I don't personally use HID's. I nailed >0.9GPW on my first attempt, I could do better, and this journal went without major catastrophe. I have been sourcing green bud from people that use HID's, for years. Density is on par, potency (compared to other WW's) is also on par. There are a couple strains that I have access to that are more potent, but are also 100% sativa, which is not what I need for daily smoke.

As far as heat is concerned, the A51 is great as long as you're in a controlled environment. If ambient temps are 84F+, I saw temps that were out of my comfort zone. I have a window unit AC, which I only use when I was home, so temps were not that strictly controlled. The cab is also in the room with the West facing wall, so my temps between 2pm and 8pm were higher than earlier in the day. The plants seemed to like cab temps of ~82F, so I let them be happy. Normal operating range was 77F-84F. If it hit 84F or above, I cancelled/reorganized my plans until I got temps down.

I have seen Prosperian's grow, I am impressed as well.

I got my PAX this morning, and I've used it 3x now, about to make it 4.
The trench/bowl part is great, it fits enough for me for most of a day.
It showed up with like a 95% full battery, so it charged real quick. The mouth piece is different than I expected, but it works well.

I would spend the $ again, the BS of USPS losing the first one sucked, but I'm happy now.

Hopefully it will last (as others have said it should), I'll use this daily until an outside influence or failure happens.

Hey DJ, if you're anywhere near the D and want cuts of my big yielder AK-47 let me know. I have been growing this cut for a long time and would love to see you do a journal with her under LED lighting to see how she does...

I'll take you up on that, once the current "life project" is completed. I want to make a run out there soon, but my life is full enough at this point in the year, that I have ~30hrs of spare time per week, and it's not all in one grouping.

I can't give many details, and I can't give pics, but there's been a background project in the works. The background project becomes project #1 once this speedbump is over. Limited on height again, but no landlord, and utmost secrecy/stealth, with a lot more square feet.

Bumping one of the best grow journals of all time.
Detailed start to finish, with pics and other documentation. And has final results.
