Id just use a heavy black tube sock. Match your hole so the pipe doesnt leave a ton of room. sock on the pipe through the hole. Maybe zip tie around the sock and pipe and then roll the sock back over the flange. Then possible zip tie rolled back sock to the flange.
I can't follow this.. haha what do you mean?

So did you kind of take after my design?
LoL, not %100 what your design is... I've looked at so many! If I remember correctly, you use waterfalls. I didn't go that route, but I experiment so much, I'm sure I will someday to at least just try it. But I have definitely read a lot of your posts. I'm learning a lot, and I got so much more to learn about hydro! I'm in soil right now...

That's basically just 2 4" vent flanges butted together and held with nuts and bolts man. Same exact thing. And a shit load cheaper.
Just install these flanges where you want your hole and cut it after wards once they're installed to make the hole easy. Or use a contrasting colored marker from the material and trace the circle and you could cut it just a slight bit bigger and would make it nice and clean.
You could put some kind of draw string sock on the end if you wanted as well. Glue it from the inside of the flange up around the actual flange so it's nice and professional like.

These ones are on Amazon.

Another way. Just put it out there in case look was a factor. It is for some people. I never knew these existed so wanted to share.

I'll check with you next time I make suggestions to see if it's ok? Lol

If it was put off as just a different suggestion. Don't have to get into specifics on why your idea is more superior. Make a suggestion and move on. People can see the differences and decide for themselves.

Maybe that's not the way you meant to come off, but it sure sounds that way. I have read a lot of your posts and you give good advice and this section needs more active members like that.

Happy New Year

I kind of went the reverse. My system recirculates, but at a much slower rate but I push a bunch of air into each box. Pumps are along the back wall near my exhaust inlet, I use my exhaust to essentially air cool them, theyre quiet enough that I cant hear them outside the tent and i really enjoy the bubbling water sounds. I have 2 pumps that push ~50gph to each res and have a gravity drain that keeps each res at desired level and all at the same level. Water drains into an external res outside the tent where it gets chilled and then pumped back in. Float valve from holding tank to keep external res topped off.

TBH i never really came across RDWC when I was doing all my research (somehow, in literal months of videos and websites) and was more going for a way to hook a bunch of "bubbleponic" boxes up together to make managing a bunch of them at once easier. My only concern of my system is roots clogging up the drains, but I offset my pots to the other side of each res to hopefully at least combat that some. If this doesnt work out ill be switching to 2" pipe and probably only putting a few stones in the external res.
Awe this is so funny to read back on now knowing you've switched to all waterfalls. Lol.

Anyone done a set up in a 4x8 tent? I would like to mount the control bucket on the outside of the tent.
I run in a tent 1.2m x 2.4m... just building my new system at the min 4 x 62ltr totes with 50mm returns and 15mm pumped waterfalls to each tote (no air pumps on this system). 2 x 600w hid light running mh through veg and hps for flower.. before this i was using a bought iws pro rdwc system..

My control is outside the tent also and i have had to cut the tent to make this work.

I have been using air pumps and air stones for some years now but after also keeping brackish fish for many years i know water falling or flooming is better at adding o2 to the water..

i have a 20" fan in the centre and 10" carbon filter so thats 2 x 62ltr totes either side so air movement is equal..

like i said im still building my new system and will add some images once finished..

Can Anyone tell me where the rubber washer goes on the 50mm tank connectors? on the inside or outside?

I would say the outside but wanted to see what others are doing.. Don't fancy flooding my house lol..

I have most of the parts together now so building it tomorrow and already have my seeds popped ready to go in the new system.. Blueberry OG, 2 x Amnesia Lemon and a Shiskaberry.. Boom

My bulkhead gaskets worked only on the outside.
