What size pinned heat sinks is needed for 3590 if driven at 1.4amps at 36 volts?
Also,Cree recommends tape or sticky adhesive squares on cobs to heat sinks but wouldn't paste transfer heat at a much better rate for even better cooling?
It just doesn't make since why not to use a high quality paste instead.Any specific reason why paste isn't recommended ?

the sst120mm in this thread are perfect for this wattage (50w) but idk why cree recommends thermal pads over paste.im glad to hear that because the pads are all i use really.

Nice dude ty for the help :joint:
No problem, If you want to know the math , It is amps times how many fans so .1 x 12 =1.2 amp. Then you need to convert that to watts, so voltage x amps 12 x 1.2 = 14.4 watts. So you needed a PSU with At least 14.4 watts output at 12 volts. Load will be 96% on the APV-16-12 so you should see maximum efficiency from that PSU.

Got some sample 133mm heatsinks to try out, took the last 3 he had available but we can make it work.here it is next to the 120mm we all know n love :) was going to mount these on a mod420 but now im thinking bar build since i just realized i have 5 spare vero not 4.so 3 x 133mm and 2 x 120mm all around 50w will monitor temps but i doubt there will be a need at these numbers

is this legit? :D I can get free pc coolers and if I glue it with thermal glue (or bolt ) on sheet of aluminium does it act like single unit or does thermal paste joinery lose it's efficient so bad that it's not gonna work? its kinda free gather old cpu cookers and glue. is it worth the effort?
