Diy cree cxb3590 3500k help please

To recommend a new user to drive a CXB3590 with 150w is not only wrong but also unfair. Running COBs above the maximum shortens their lifetime and makes them inefficient. You testify to have a buddhist attitude, but now you show how hostile you really are. You could have recommended keeping all the COB's and running them at half current ... but no, you recommend the bad thing and shovel bad things to your own karma.

BTW, I had a Vero29gen6, which I could run without problems with 5,2A. But just because it's not burned out, I recommend that to no one else.

If you have already bought everything, use the built-in dimmers or operate the COB's in a parallel circuit to lower the current. CXB3590 perform best when running at 36-75w (50-55% effiency), at 150w we talk about 35% effiency, not better than HPS.
Do youself a favor and and listen to what cobkits has recommended.
Thanks man i didn't buy anything yet I'll just get with cobkits. this is all new to me i have a couple kind xl 1000 no cobs yet tho. i just hate to spend so much on a light like the kind if i can build one cheaper jus seems a lil confusing right now lol

Have you heard of Samsung's F-Series strips? They blow your kind xl's out of the water!
These strips are truely a game changer and blow away almost every COB based lights with ease. COB's would have to run with 25-35w to achieve the same efficiency.
They use the same diodes as Quantumboards but cost ⅓ less.
For a 5x5' area I would recommend to use six 4ft. double row or 12 single row F-strips and 2 HLG-320H-48A.
2x2x2" alu U-channels are enough for cooling, no heatsinks needed, so you can save a bit more, and believe me, these strips are really great! Better light distribution and better efficiency hand in hand with a comparably lower price.

Assuming a HLG-240H-54A has 4,6Amps and let's say a CXM22 needs ~50v at 1,15A, then each driver could handle 4 COB's in parallel, 50v/4,6Amps, around 230w, -250w at the wall. So with 4 drivers and 16 COB's 920-1000w!

But this is probably too much goodness and you can get away with 4 HLG-185H-54B and 800w. But I still recommend F-strips over COB's because of numerous advantages.

Nope!
You got the bare LED strips and have to mount or glue them to a piece of U-channel, very simple.
There is a part list in one of the recommended threads.
In general you need the strips, double sided thermal tape or some screws, alu U-channel, some single core awg20 wire and a 48v CV/CC driver like MeanWell's HLG or ELG driver series.
No need for expensive heatsinks, no need for special holders or reflectors and no need to use thermal grease.
Simply screw them to the metal, insert wires into the connectors and push the driver into the wall plug(ahh, I forgot, no need to solder anything, LOL).

No shit doesn't sound too bad lol i have a friend who's gonna be helping me he knows his shit not me lol i appreciate all your help! Im glad you told me about these I'll be doing lots of googling after work!

you could downsize the drivers to hlg-185 48A or 54B to save some loot and still have 800W. would only shave about $80 though,

What price have they offered per board?

Yea that's the scary part why can't people just be honest about shit especially when you spend so much money. I did see another thread were the person bought from the same co and drilled em with Qs and said everything sounded legit I'm gonna keep researching Before i drop the money

1000w is enough for a 6x6‘ area, so yes, it's a bit too much without additional CO²! (Over 1000-1500μmol/s additional CO² is recommended, so that the plants can use so much light).
But Meanwell drivers are dimmable, A models via internal poti(50-108%), B models via external 100-110k poti(6-108%).
Watch well and avoid bleaching, then you will find the sweet spot for each specific strain.(sativas are usually more light hungry)

If you're running Leds at that high of amps you might as well just buy a CMH.
I don't kno what the amps will be running at I'm justrying to get the best lights to get me the most weight over a 5x5 scrog besides hps i already have a few cmh in other rooms jus seem to stretch allot more compared to my leds
