The Homemade Method
This is the easiest and cheapest method. Things you will need:
If you want a larger setup just use the same measurements on a larger scale. This system will work from a 2 litre bottle:
The yeast eats the sugar and gives off CO[SUB]2[/SUB] as a biproduct. The more yeast you use the faster it will produce CO[SUB]2[/SUB], the more sugar you add the longer the mixture will keep generating. You will notice bubbles popping up to the surface within a few hours. Shake the bottle every day or two to speed up the process. After a couple of weeks you will notice the bubbles stop appearing, and you need to create a new solution. Wash everything thoroughly.

This is the easiest and cheapest method. Things you will need:
- Activated yeast. It is used for making bread and can usually be found in a supermarket or health food store.
- Sugar.
- A container. A large bottle will do. Two separate bottle caps can come in handy.
- Some thin tubing.
If you want a larger setup just use the same measurements on a larger scale. This system will work from a 2 litre bottle:
- Make a hole in the bottle cap that's slightly smaller than the tube.
- Push the tube through and make sure it is airtight. You can use glue or any type of sealant.
- Pour a cupful of sugar into the bottle.
- Fill it less than 3/4 of the way up with warm water.
- Using a different cap, close the bottle and shake it until the sugar disolves.
- Add 1 tbsp of yeast to the mixture and shake again.
- Place the cap with the tube on the bottle.
- Put the bottle into your grow room, leaving the end of the tube where you want to release the CO[SUB]2[/SUB].
- You can put little holes along the tube if you would like the gas to spread more evenly.
