Is molasses problematic for hydro? I had read it could clog everything up...

It's funny... I keep telling my wife what a weird feeling it is to fight myself on cutting a bit. I've wanted to take a sample nug for a few days now, but there really isn't that much point, other than to calm my excitment. It's kinda like a zen thing or something, being ok with letting them get just perfect.

Plus I want my first experience with my first grow to be as good as possible.

We'll see if I make it without taking a little bowl size nug though, haha.

And yeah... molasses totally clogged all my airstones. It was one of my 2 big mistakes (the other being the ph snafu). I think the airstones were clogged for maybe 5-7 days. It was only becuase I was on another thread saying how my airstone never clog... that I discovered my airstones were clogged (I like to double check claims I make and glad I did). After that I bought ceramic airstones and those seem to do a lot better. They have been in with the molasses for a couple weeks now and they just get a little funky but still work ok.

For my next grow I'm going to need to figure out the airstone situation... or just not use sweetener, that would make things easy.

I would totally cut some off, but... I have $60 in rewards points at one co-op (yes there is a points card that you get money back)... and my other co-op that got raided is going to hook me up for the help I gave them and for going to the protest. So I will still be smoking for free for a couple more weeks. If it wasn't for that I think I would have taken some sample by now.

I cant believe you havent taken a sample nug yet lol good job. I say keep it up as long as you can : P. Sux that your stones got clogged, I would say the best way to fix your prob is probably to stop using that shit. You can get other grow suppliments to replace it.

Jig, You have insipired me bro, and i truely mean that, i think i am in awe of your strenth, i only hope i don;t make a mistake of cutting too early, i think i was only three weeks behing you, but mine will need alot longer than that, i just did't do it as pro as you, but i am learning.

And you're right, I am strapped to the max lol.

As far as a carb, look into sucrate. It's dehyrated cane juice that comes in a granular form. If you let it sit in water at 10ml per gallon for a while, it dissolves in my experience.

Basically has everything molasses has, without the mess!

I also use Carboload from Advanced Nutrients. Check it out too with a quick google.

Advanced Nutrients website looks like a crazy sales letter... I know everyone likes their products, but I really don't like their marketing.

I'm definitely going to switch sweeteners.

I've been watching your grow & I must say I'm enjoying it a lot!! Really like the videos too. Great song!! Botanicare has some very nice organic nutes if your looking for a good sweetener. Keep up the good work!!

Sweet vid dude. You can really see how hard and dense those nugs are man, I'm psyched to see how much you get in the end weight. Do you know of any other way to post videos on this site without uploading them on youtube first?

p.s.- I like older green day better than their newer stuff

I think I have composed more words here than I did in my 9 years in college (I wasn't an english major). As stated before I really wish I could share the spoils with you all. Someday in the future when some jetson stuff happens... I'll be able to zap joints all over the place.

Tom, I have no idea about video outside youtube. I don't think there is anything on the site itself that lets you host a video, so you'd have to put it up somewhere and link to it. I just made up another youtube account, but I'm in Cali, so it's a little different I know. What you need to do is just bring your memory card to the library and upload to youtube there if you are worried about ip addresses. You can wear a hat to the library if you are really worried.

Nimrod is one of my top 10 albums ever. Don't know if you know but Face to Face - Big Choice is another.

In my experience, AN is vastly over-rated. However, I have had nice results this grow with the Carboload.

When I bought the clones they had been cut for 14 days.

I vegged them under a 400w MH for 30 Days.

Then under a 400w HPS added 250w MH... they have been in 12/12 for 64 days (the day I took video and pics).

They showed flowers about 11 days into 12/12, so I say they have been flowering for 53 days. Almost 8 full weeks.

Wish I did man... they are trapped in that rez tight. The screen is fixed on the wall so the whole damn setup is strapped down tight (not ideal, but it's what we got).

I will be sure to snap tons of pics when the plants come down and the roots are visable.

From what I can tell, seeing through the holes in my lid, they are all nice and white... and I think about the bottom 1/3 of the tank is full of roots.

Amazingly I beleive the root separating nets I installed worked (not that I actually needed them for transplants, removal, etc). But it's great I did intall the netting inside... otherwise I think the lid would have collapsed under the weight.

Now that the sun is in a different place in the sky... my closet gets direct sunlight for about 5 minutes now. I just noticed now. I snapped a couple pics but unfortunatly didn't get a clear one of the bud I'm thinking of cutting... I'm including the blurry picture anyways.

The others are good shots.

If I remember tomorrow between 6:45-6:50 pm I'll snap some more pics.
