dispensaries no longer legal. fuck.

A good petition would set guidelines for dispensaries, commercial grows, coffee shops etc. Permit fees, basic location guidelines, outdoor grow rules, etc. Don't leave much open to the state and local gov't to make decisions on. Don't make it too vague and broad like the last petition. Set up a reasonable tax scheme. Have it all there in black in white, no confusion. Make something that is for the good of the people and allows fair play so the little guy can get in the game too.

If it's good I'll help you collect signatures and organize stuff like auctions etc to help fund the thing. WE can't do it like we tried last time. Not paying circulators was another huge mistake imo. We need to get it written up and start gathering funds to pay folks to circulate a good petition.

We also need to collect sigs during the warm season. Starting out in January last time was another huge mistake. If we get it started now and work as a team (everybody who can help), organize, strategize and implement we can over come.
One month to Hash Bash, get working boys ;) I'm sure a few thousand signatures can be had there.

....i didn't say it makes sense lol...but you are falling victim to common sense and wishful thinking. there isn't anything to interprete in the ruling...the justices have completely spelled it out. you are not LEGALLY allowed to obtain from anywhere other than yourself if you are growing or your designated CG
I disagree: the law says I can get it anyway I want. This ruling makes being the donor illegal; but does not prevent the patient from accepting it. Unless I got the gist of the ruling wrong that is. I have always found the part of the Act that says a patient can acquire their meds in any manner to be a bit of an oversight; like can a patient murder their friend so they can take their weed and use it to alleviate their medical condition? And do I really have to tie my medical marijuana to the top of the van to transport it?

Well we can always steal it from it each other; the law says we can get it anyway we want. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this. I don't understand how free P2P got axed in this deal; but that sure fucks up my model.
Yeah, P2P being axed, especially after the Court of Appeals said it was okay last week, is some bs. That said, what if one were to say.. leave an early morning present in the paper box, anonymously? Victimless crime? :)

I like the model of each Care Giver having 5 patients who each have 5 patients and so forth . This works and is working for some Caregivers currently , the extended patients can even grow if they choose . The Head Caregiver in this circle has the ability to grow and newtwork legally with alot more than 5 people in the end , sure taxes are added with each hand but in the end everyone can benefit . I like the idea of handing over 15 ounces to each of my patients on a regular basis and I even have a slot or two open ;p

Oh no, it's too soon to start collecting signatures. We need to do lots of organizing, writing and donation collecting first. 2014 should be the year we collect signatures once we have the cash raised to pay people to circulate our petition. No petition in Michigan has ever collected enough signatures that didn't have paid circulators.... Lets go at this professionally and build a good foundation before we go off half cocked.

If one has to pay people to circulate the petition because those that would be circulating it do not feel strongly enough to help the cause without any type of benefit or reward, they're against the cause anyway, and not someone I want on our side. Shit, email me one or make a digital version up that I can print and I'll circulate it.

yep, the stock for us caregivers just shot straight up like an arrow, however the ruling really sucks for the most part

That's not true.. Paying someone would produce more results.. Sure I'll get signatures for an hour after work.. Or pay me and I'll take whole days and get SIGNATURES..

I can see your point, was just hoping and being more optimistic than perhaps I should be otherwise.. What type of fund/budget is required for such a project, out of curiosity? Who's setting it up? When is the account for donations going to be active? :D

Most circulators get $1 per signature. We need about 330,000 signatures. We'll also need to have the petitions printed which will have a cost. I'll collect signatures for free and hope others who can afford to will also but there is no way we will get this accomplished without help. We could put together funds for a year and start collecting signatures in April of 2014. Auctions would probably be one way to get some cash, anybody have any other ideas? I can donate packs of seeds to be auctioned.

Before we start asking for donations or collecting cash I think we need to get a non profit license. This way we can put the cash into a non personal account where it can be securely watched by a board of trustees etc.

But before we do that I think we need to write up a very good petition to show folks what they are donating their cash for. Also a website with a forum is a must. We are going to need a large team of dedicated volunteers. We need to set up a meeting soon.

Seed packs could definitely rock, could also offer exclusives/semi-rare seeds auction-style, to help with the higher $ that will need to be met... should someone with the seeds choose to participate and help in the fundraising. :)

Really? How do you figure that?

As a medical marijuana patient and caregiver that is also a husband, parent, and business owner, no I am absolutely NOT prepared to go to jail. Why should I be? It may come as a newsflash to you, but some of us have things in life that are more important to us than weed. I grow because it helps me, I enjoy doing it, and I am helping out others in the process. I stay within the boundaries of the law, and I don't flaunt what I have going on.

Who the fuck are you to suggest who should be growing and who shouldn't?
If you thought that the MMMA was gonna save your ass from the beginning, then you have been living in fairytale land. The fact is, if you have all of those things to lose, you should not have started doing what you are doing until it is 100% legal with no grey area. You HAVE been risking your freedom whether you know it or not.
Pwhat I was referring to is dispensary owners though, not just growers. You shouldn't be willing to open a place without being will to go to j ail for doing so. Anyone who closes right now is a pussy. No change happens if you just follow directions from our oppressors.
