i know you were one of them. mine was a sarcastic response to Mick about how he used it with tap water. my original post was that it was better with 0 ppm water in that when i used it with such , my pH was dead nutz on 5.8
so no offense @potroast just keeping Mick honest
Am I misreading your post?
How are you keeping me honest?

have you ever tried the floranova bloom? it's thick as heck but worked really well too. and it's Lucas based
I've use it before.......and I used tap water with that as well. :P
You never answered my post asking how you were keeping me honest.

@MickFoster, have you tried both tap and RO? When I first started this run I was switching from AN and peat to Lucas and RDWC, I thought I could get away with tap water but the best I could get was .5 ec, I ran it and had ca issues fast. At that time I was using micro hardwater and bloom, ended up going to RO and regular micro, one plant showed ca issues so I calimagic’ed them all. Anyways, had a couple issues so I want to try something else, what other Lucas formulas have you used? Did nova work different or better then maxi? Same shit different pile? I rather grow better weed with less, then so many do with so much, including myself in the past. I’m prob chopping a couple more plants tonight, I’m itching to get my next run started so I need to decide on nutes pretty quick. Plus I see my clones perked today, must of rooted.

Did you use nova with RO or need to use Epsom or ca nit or just a calmag at all? You mentioned you were going to give the jacks hardwater a run. What’s the reasoning behind it if both water sources are available. Not needing calmag maybe? Honestly over the years I just bottle read and followed the pack or whatever store owners recommended, I would of done really good this round if I didn’t have bad genetics, one plant was phenomenal, maybe another really nice and the rest are hot garbage. I know this time it wasn’t me so I’m going to go right back into it, if I can grow killer smoke with one or 2 bottles, then I can dial in the extra from there. My critical kush did not like Lucas, it had some kinda nitrogen and calcium relation deficiency.. the entire 4 months... Pretty disappointed, I couldn’t tailor for one plant, my bad for doing too many unknown strains at once, here’s one of 6 colas it had, this one broke and I had to take it out. Greasy, I don’t like the terps smell, leaf bud ratio is shit, the rest is in week 12 now, still going.

@J232 are you sure it's discontinued or just not available in CA? i find it hard to believe they stopped making it.

and to your Jacks, i'm gonna try Jacks Tap 15-5-20 when i start up again in a few weeks. supposed to work for tap/well (not RO) water.
Gotta be something with Canada
I can buy all the maxibloom I want.. in all sizes.. for really good prices
Does Canada have their own version of Scotts Miracle-Gro or something?

Not all tap water is the same.......yours may not be suitable. The only time I used R/O was when I ran DWC and Waterfarms over 20 years ago.
I have tried and used all of the so-called Lucas formulas.......Flora Series, FloraNova Bloom, and MaxiBloom. I prefer MaxiBloom.

And the plant I took down at 9 weeks is prob some of the better smoke I had in years. And I quit growing for 4 year so I was buying it out of BC in bulk. So I know myself, Lucas formula works great.

It is something with Canada, they prob banned something in it, i see all kinds of excuses and inflated prices the more I search.

Yeah mines 270 so it’s shit but good for watering my outdoors between feeds
And yeah, kinda figured the maxi is the one I want, the one I set myself on before I checked supply. Maybe I will just grab some off a USA site and use it when it shows, who knows. Will sit down this weekend and see what I come up with. Appreciate the input.

That video and with everything I have read about 321, it’s pretty convincing to try jacks out too. I can do a grow Lucas or jacks for $100 cad.

I had problems with my last pouch of maxibloom. I know it was a good product but this last batch was clearly different. It wouldnt stay stable in my reservoir even over the course of a few hours. Never had problems before this. Now that I've switched to something else, I'm back on easy street. When I'm ready for flowering I'll be switching to Jack's

A few elemental ppm breakdowns for comparison.

New-Matrix.png

Jacks 321 mixes. Base is high in Mg. For a 2:1 Ca:Mg ratio, I use Jacks without the "1". Coco.

Best wishes on all your grows.

Just an FYI.
MegaCrop 2Part is a virtual copy of Jacks 321. (the epsom is not needed for either, only 3/2/0)

Easy dose chart - works with Jacks.

Full meal deal. As per Megacrop dosage chart - with a few epsom tweaks. (same applies to Jacks!)

I think with jacks it’s a good idea to run the epsom salt if only for the added sulfur. Very low sulphur levels without it compared to other fancier two parts like Athena or floraflex.

I just mix my epsom in a lil bit of warm water before adding it to res so it dissolves all the way. Other than that I just stir it up normally. I would definitely use the epsom with jacks because every run I have one or two plants show slight mag deficiency in veg. Amount I add is 2.4 jacks .8 epsom and 1.65 cal-nit per gallon. Comes out around 900 ppm with my tap water.
