Discolored and mis-shaped leaves

IMG_5590.JPG hey guys, I really hope someone can help me out here. I was growing my first plant for the past several weeks and it ended badly.

Previous Mistakes:
I gave the plant excess nutrients
I had the plant in a pot with no drainage
I could not control the temperature (too hot)

I replanted some seeds and corrected my mistakes (I hope). My temps are now consistently between 78-83 degrees, I'm using smart-pots with Happy Frog soil, and an 18/6 LED light schedule. Once my seeds germinated I placed them under the VIPARSPECTRA LED light (300W equivalent) at 24".

New Problem:
The leaves on all 3 plants have started "folding", and the 2 identical strains started showing light blotches on the leaves. The plants are growing at a nice rate, but I'm concerned I'm doing something wrong again. Any help is appreciated. I'm starting to think the light is too bright? Could this be? The manufacturer suggests putting seedlings under the light at 36" and reduce to 24" through veg; that just seemed so far away to me.

some pics in a different light would help.
Hey, thanks in advance for any help. Here are some pics I took under natural light.

You can see that one of my JH plants (6 days) seems to be growing very slowly, with discoloration on the leaves.

The other JH plant (11 days) is growing well, but has a strange discolored patch on one of the leaves. The tips of the largest leaves are also pointing downward.

IMG_5596.JPG IMG_5599.JPG IMG_5598.JPG IMG_5597.JPG My OG Kush plant was off to a rough start with helmet head and stretched like crazy, but seems to be doing well after getting the seed shell off, except has some original leaves that look like they're folding. The new leaves appear unaffected.

New growth looks good. I wouldn't worry too much. I get that little leaf fold you're talking about in seedlings from time to time and it's never turned into an issue.

They look pretty good to me too. Just keep an eye on them for a few days to see if the damage progresses. I think they will be fine.

i think your led is too strong even at 24 inches. they look like they're about grown to where they can handle it, next time try using a couple of t5s till they get about the size they are now then put them under your led
You know what? You're the first person to say that, but I think there's a good chance you're right. The only consistent factor I've had among these 3 plants (and the one before) is my light. The manufacturer says to keep it at 36" for seedlings, and gradually lower to 24" for the rest of veg. I'm going to re-adjust the height, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Seriously, BIG THANKS to you guys for taking time to help me out

IMG_5632.JPG IMG_5618.JPG OK, so things seem to be going alright. Temps are good, lights are good, but now I am reminded of another problem.

Watering
I am using 2 gallon smart pots (fabric) and have been doing a light water every couple of days when the soil gets dry down past my knuckle. I don't water until it pours out of the bottom though. Is this bad? Can someone help me out?

Humidity
I have a hygrometer reading humidity levels between 29-34%. I feel like this is too low. I've been trying to mist the plants lightly twice a day, but the water evaporates pretty quick. The temps around 80, give or take depending on the time of day (77-82). Does anyone know if I need to change anything, and suggestions?

Thanks again guys!

you don't have to get run through every time, but i'd try to get at least 20% every other time, keeps the used up salts from collecting in the bottom of your pot and burning your roots.

i would buy a cheap cool mist humidifier and put it in or next to the tent at an open intake vent, that low an rh is going to make your plants work harder to respire, wasted effort that produces nothing and slows down the growth process

hey guys, I'm back again with some more questions. Things seem to be going alright, but I'm curious about node spacing and whether or not my plant should be taller. My Jack Herer strain looks pretty short, and is getting bushier, but hardly any taller. Does this have to do with my lighting? My lights are set at 29", and the leaves are all slightly pointing upwards. It seems like the right distance. I'm not using nutrients if that makes a difference.
Any thoughts?

Is it possible I stunted the growth with the light so close early on? My OG Kush seems pretty slow too for being 2 weeks old. Also, my youngest Jack Herer plant is 10 days old and is growing VERY slow. The leaves are still bleached from the light, so I'm thinking it's just a dud now.

Thanks again guys for all the helpIMG_5652.JPG IMG_5651.JPG IMG_5647.JPG IMG_5640.JPG

That twisting happen to me everytime I grow one of my auto seeds. It I think its genetic, but they will shake that off and once your plant gets bigger, she'll stop twisting the leaves. In my case, they've only done that in the first 1-4 weeks.

patience young grasshopper , all you need is patience. Give her sometime to get use to the change in light. Can't rush her to do better. Light on the feeding and cool your temps down with a fan blowing in grow room.

Doesn't need nutrients the first few weeks anyway, has enough stored in young leaves to get by the first 3 weeks. Light 1/8 to no nutes at all. Light nukes can stunt also with the heat.
