Did I Harvest Too Early?

Hey guys! I was wondering if I harvested too early? I was a growing two critical jack herer auto delicious seeds and it says it’s a 60-70 day strain and I cut it at day 72. All leaves were yellowing and dying, buds are decent size, I saw a few Amber trichomes on the main colas, most of the hairs were orange/brown but I felt like I cut it too soon. Was I supposed to wait for more amber trichomes? What do you think?

Your description was better than the pic.
No, you didn't harvest too soon, unless you're looking for couchlock.

Too late to second guess yourself anyway.

Enjoy.
Ok thanks for the quick response brotha. I was just wondering because I only saw a few Amber trichomes on the main cola and I had to chop both at once. Some people wait for more amber trichomes and the buds aren’t as big as I expected. You think I could pull a few grams per branch? I’m looking for a couple ounces that was my goal and a nice high...

i like to think theres a 2 week window to harvest. you were well inside that window. next time you can go longer or shorter, experiment.
Yea I was thinking the same thing too. I harvested in the beginning of the window. I could have waited but who knows. I’m starting my 2nd grow next week. Two more critical jacks. Maybe I’ll let these go longer

idk how ppl are giving you answers with the pic provided. From what you're describing and from what little I can tell from the pic.. you had at least a couple more weeks. This is the problem with going only by triches or the breeder range.. Trichomes can go "amber" for reasons other than being done.. I had a Jamaican buddy laugh when I started talking about trichomes.. He said you know the bud is done when the calyxes are swollen and buds are hard when you squeeze them.. usually the pistils will recede as the calyxes swell.

You do that and you'll probably double-triple your yield.. get u a lot closer to your goal.. Good luck and congrats on growin ur own

I Appreciate the knowledge. I will wait longer on this second grow. Do you think I lost potency and yield? I’m just hoping it gets me high and few ounces! :)

You'll definitely get high.. but u also lost some yield.. If u got a scale throw it on there, u can usually get a rough estimate by multiplying by .22. Throw up sum more pics n let us know what your clock says :eyesmoke:

You should be fine...
Thanks bud! Blowingcherrypie is making me worry over here. It looks like I had at least 50% colored hairs and I saw some amber trichomes on the main cola. I had to harvest all at once, I couldn’t just cut the top so that’s why I chopped all at once. We’ll see how this turns out

I just bought a scale at a smoke shop. Multiply what by .22? They’ve been drying in my closet for 9-10 days. The buds feel hard and a little crispy. Some stems bend and crack. I also chopped when the soil was wet. Should I start the cure or wait?

Don't make too much of the strength of the fresh, cureing for 3-4 weeks can make a big difference I've recently found. Get them in jars and see if they are less crispy in a few days. Seems to make a large difference in the length of the high.:bigjoint:

Cool will do boss! I’m also starting a grow journal next week for two critical jack herer auto delicious seeds if anybody is interested in following? I’ll be posting pics weekly. I learned a lot from this first grow and I’m expecting big things from this second!

yeha 9-10 days... crispy... put em in jars. theyre more than ready to cure
Just took half down and put them in a glass mason jar, I got 31.3 grams, I will finish the other half tomorrow. For curing should I move it around and burp it twice a day for 15-20 minutes the first week, then second week every other day, then third week just leave them in the jars? Looking to do a full month cure...

I think to get an ounce pr small plant is pretty good for a newb.
And your description of when you cut sounds fine.
Weed doesn't suddenly explode in size because you waited long.

I know when my harvest date is the day I flip my plants...but I grow the same cut clones over and over... I harvest no more than I can trim on a day.SO the end of the harvest is 10 days older... I call it my late harvest special... the only thing that changes is the quality...
