DFTOKE- Fist Grow Purple mazar , OG Kush , Jack Strain

Hey guys first indoor grow. I posted in the plant problem section, and I decided I might as well start a journal while I'm at it.

-400 watt hps Veg & Flower
-Canna Terra Pro Soil
-Came out of the Ground on February 1st
-Current age 11 days

A few days ago the plants got scorched a bit by the 400 watt, I raised the lights and waited a day, the plants responded really well! I'm glad it wasn't some kind of deficiency. I'll be posting pictures everyday for you guys to see how they're doing.

The strains I am growing are

Purple Mazar - Really purple plant. The bud the seeds came from looked like low quality & old, but had a dank smell and visible purple hues. The high makes you have to lay down but is not overwhelming. (Indica)

OG Kush - Growing one plant of this. The bud that I got the seeds from on this one was some outdoor, and had not been allowed to flower enough. Nevertheless the smoke was pretty good. The buzz wasn't that good but we'll see once harvest comes (Indica)

Random Jack Strain - Frosty White buds, some real dank, smelt like berries, with dark red hairs. Makes your head race, With a whole overall body buzz. (Sativa Hybrid)

Anyways here's some pictures from today

Here they are this morning, recovering nicely from the heat stress chlorophyll is returning to the scorched area.

The og is on the middle bottom.

The two jack ones are on the top left & bottom right corners. They are smelling already.

The rest are Purple mazar most of them are growing very strong, even the one I test everything on is a strong one!

Day 13, Plants are still recovering, they are doing great. The one jack has a slit stem and i'm afraid its not gonna make it.

I have A couple of questions

Can I throw a carbon filter beside my plants to get rid of all the smell in a enclosed bedroom?

Also, my plants new growth is healthy, but the leafs on the 2nd node are tense to touch. Would it be a good idea to put a bowl of cold water in the room to put some moisture in the air?

Some of the plants have weird 2 node leaves some hove 4 instead of 3 , and 1 plant has none.

It happens. Btw a "node" is where the leaf attaches to the stem of your plant. We call leaf things "fingers".

What do you mean throw a carbon filter..without a fan drawing air through it? If you can't afford fan and filter, get a bag of gonzo rocks from homedepot. They get rid of odors great. I use it for my bathroom and it cuts down wait time. lol


What do you mean the leaves are tense to touch?

It feels like tense like I can push them inside out , and some of the ends of the leaves seemed dried out and are curving up a little.

And will those rocks work fro 5 or 6 plants?

It worked for one plant. Not sure about 6.

Stop touching your plants! lol It's not good for them. I don't touch my plants, I go by color to tell me if something is wrong.

I would ask around about the carbon filter.

When you transplant, bury the stems on your plants like 1-2 inches from first leaves. =)

Thanks flaming pie! I was wondering too, the jack in the bottom right corner in the pictures is really peculiar. Its leaves are soooooo soft they feel like silk, and this plant smells worse 2 weeks in veg then my previous grow outdoors when the plant was 7 weeks in flowering. Does that mean it will be a female due to the strong smell coming from it already. All the plants have a little smell but this one smells like a bud is against my nose!

And when should I transplant???

Some plants just smell more than others. My 24 day old mazar x great white shark has an odor. I don't think smell is an indicator of sex tho.

Can you see roots near the holes on the bottom of your cups

I have never grown in solo cups. I have always started in cups about 2/3 that size. 2 weeks seems like they would be good to transplant tho.

The plants are wider than the mouth of the cup and about as tall. So roots are prob starting to circle the bottom now.

Alright im going to transplant next friday or sometime this week. Thanks for sticking with my grow flaming pie! Means a lot to have some help! Btw If I stopped vegging right now what would be a low-ball estimate of my yield be; saying that at least 5 turned out to be female

I just killed off the jack that wasnt growing, and holy shit it had roots overflowing when i ripped it out im transplanting tomorrow holy smokes!

I know it sounds weird but I felt a little sad and empty when I ripped it out, it didn't sit right with me lmfao

Man that sucks about your jack.

Possible yield depends on your time in veg, pot size and lights.

I got an ounce and a half with five gallon pot, 180watts cfl and 3weeks veg.

gheeze im made in the shade then! Im sad about the jack tho...

thats a huge yield for cfl Im gonna flower right at 3 weeks when you did.

Yeah with hps, providing you don't get a serious deficiency or drop your something on your plants, expect at least an ounce and half per plant.
