Hey guys! Hubby and I are looking to switch over to Hydro. We currently have a few in soil now. I have been doing some reading and I am looking for some suggestions and advice. I would like to gather as much info as I can while we await the current grow to finish up, so I will be ready for our next grow in hydro.

Due to limited space, we have a 4x4 diy tent. It has been successful for us in our past few grows, but hubby thinks that the hydro may be a much better way to go.

We have been looking into this EBB & Flow,

http://www.horticulturesource.com/product_info.php?products_id=4490

and this one......

http://www.atlantishydroponics.com/Trays-Chambers-and-Reservoirs/Viagrow-Complete-Ebb-and-Flow-System-3%27-x-3%27.asp

We are leaning more towards the table with the 16 one gal pots. It would fit perfectly into the tent and lets be honest its a bit less expensive.

Here is my thoughts...... being that the pots are smaller, my rooting will be restricted. Thus smaller plants or stunting growth? Am I correct for thinking this? Or would looking into strains with different genetics to get a much shorter bushy SOG be the way to go? Being that these pots are 1 gal, is there a max height that they can maintain? Ie, good for X amount of feet?

All questions and comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!! ;-)

Personally,

Id look into dwc buckets,

You can grow a large amount of buds in very small containers.

Please click on my grow link near my signature, and you will see what dwc buckets are all about.

Good luck. CG :)

As a very general rule of thumb, a gallon per plant is for small plants like dwarfs or a sog. 2 gal per plant can accommodate most indoor plants to maybe 4 ft while 3 gal per plant will do a tree. Link below for some ideas on dwc.

hey, instead of spending a bunch on a prefab system, you might also want to do a read up on hempy buckets, they are simple and a great introduction to hydroponic growing.... bongsmilie
bubble buckets/dwc are also pretty simple and easy to use, but slightly more complicated on the nutrient/ph/ppm side of things.
