Day 17 of flower, worried about progress.

First don't disappear in shame. I can guarantee you'll fail at this sooner or later but just get back at it.

Look around for light leaks. They don't look like they've fully converted to flowering. The buds at the tops should look more organized instead of just random pistils. Just like what Tormentedangel420 posted
I have, it was pitch black except for the light from my power strip... which I covered with duct tape even though it barley glows green. Double checked, and then triple checked my timers. Still a mystery.

i I def agree, hes got a hybrid. It was more of a general statement about sativas. Even still though I'm not worried at all about his plant yet, I commonly dont see much sign of flower for 14 days so I dont worry too soon, plants can catch up quick. I also advocate him buying better seeds for next time, I've ran strains that show buds in 3 days so theres a wide range for sure.
Absolutely and I think your giving good information for people on sativas is a kindness. The hybrids will vary a lot. I wouldn't worry but I would also check for possible light leaks.

It fluctuates quite a bit. On average probably 83 and 50%.
From the sounds of it u have everythiNg in check , maybe is because she sativa dom and needa longer to finish and get through certain stages dou to her late finishing so its hard to compare ? Who knows maybe genetics , only patience would tell my friend

Any suggestions for a second strain? I’ve thought about just going with something common like blueberry or Ak47. I should have a new light soon so these lights are going to go back in a 2x4x4 box I built when I started these plants. They got too big so I ordered a tent. Here is her and her brother a couple months ago.

@curious2garden is giving good advice and I keep forgetting to back up his statement of looking for light leaks, but I've ment to.

As to a good strain to go with I think the classic winners have been overlooked lately sadly. Northern lights is a great go to. It's very easy to grow and resistant to many issues. I keep thinking about ordering another pack after losing my last one that was my all time highest yielder (a nearly 2lb single plant indoors) and the quality is good on it. White widow, super skunk, blueberry. Og kush in its many forms. Imo I like those classic winners these new strains are built on. I'd look for a strain listed as 56-60 days. Theres too many great strains and breeders to list, theres 1000 good ones out there and honestly some of my favs have been the freebies I've gotten from attitude from no name breeders on my 600$ order of name brand top shelf seeds. In this game it's a bit of forging you own way and taking risks, and following the tried and true path if you understand me.

I definitely get you. I started this as what I thought would be just a little hobby, but it’s became this big thing in my life. I think about my plant all the time. I just want it to work out. I think I’ll take you advice and try to order some feminized blueberry and northern lights tonight. Maybe run 2 of both for my second grow.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for being so helpful. I didn’t expect this much of a response. Here is day 18.... still no buds but it seems to be stretching.

I would use something other than duct tape. Electrical tape works better to block light. I tried putting Gorilla Tape over some temp sensor leds and the light went right through, but dimmed. I ended up just popping out the leds with a tiny screwdriver instead, but I don't think I would try popping one out of a power supply.

Also green leds aren't as bad as red, and I've heard some people say they don't effect the light cycle at all. They make green led headlamps for grow rooms, but I would rather be safe then sorry, so I cover up all my leds.

don't forget when they say 8 weeks to flower they probably mean from when the flowers first show and not from when you flipped to 1212.

Well, it’s about day 26 since started flower. A week ago I got impatient and gave the plant 36 hours of darkness and switched to an 11-13 light schedule. Now I have flower growth. I don’t know if I would have not done the dark period and shortened day if I’d be in the same spot or not, but now I have flowers forming. Hopefully the plant doesn’t stretch too much more I’m runnning out of room quickly.

That was a pretty good idea overall, I'll def reduce hours to kick things off. I'm not sure if I'd reccomend 36 hours of dark mid flower but I also dont think it's a problem.

Happy things are moving along for ya :)

Would you go back to 12/12 once flower is rolling along or stick to the shorter days? I’m thinking sticking to the shorter days will probably be best if that’s what it wanted to get into flower mode.

Stick with shorter days for sure.

All summer I ran 9/15 just to lower heat load and there wasnt much if any noticable decrease in yield. I mean, it was a bit less but it wasnt disproportionate and the plants didnt suffer.

You'll find many people actually run differant/less light hours as some strains thrive on it

One more question, I’ve been waiting for the grow bars I got off alibaba forever. I just checked tracking and they finally made it to Memphis, so I think I’ll have them within the next few days. Do y’all think that it is too late to do some gentle lst and open it up a little so I get more light to the inside branches? It’s definitely going to throw off my pretty level canopy since I think it’s too late to do any supercropping on the middle branches. I’m going to be going from 300 to 800 watts of led though so I’d really like to utilize some more of the light. I’ve also got to decide whether to just flower out those clones stuck in the corner or to put them in a separate box.

Ok, one more question, anyone have suggestions on well respected USA based seedbanks that accept bitcoin and ship discreetly? My bank has been seriously a pain in the ass, I tried to order seeds from attitude and they flagged it as fraud and I had to call the bank and get it sorted out before I could use my account again.

It's not really a big deal to open things up even this late. It's not ideal but it's ok to do. I'd see if you can get a scrog screen on there and weave it a little if that's not too advanced for it, it's much harder to do this late but I've done it
