Day 17 of flower, worried about progress.

This is my first grow. This plant was vegged for 3 months before I switched to 12/12. I know it’s small for its age but I don’t have climate control in my grow area yet so I waited until the outside climate was cool enough to flower. Temps stay in the low to mid 80s now.

It’s bagseed. I’m not sure how many gallons the pot is, between 3 and 5. I mixed the soil myself with compost/topsoil, worm casings, a little blood and bone meal, and vermiculite and perlite.

Lights are an hlg saber producing 100w and 4 cobs producing 200 watts total. I’ve ordered an 800w 10 bar ecospeed from alibaba but it hasn’t shipped yet, much to my dismay. The cobs are 3500k.

I cycle through using fox farms trio at about 2/3rds the suggested doses, compost tea and then plain water at waterings.

I just feel like there should be a lot more flower production by day 17 of switching to 12/12. Any suggestions, feedback, or even criticism would be greatly appreciated.2260BCE2-5854-4768-9259-2099312D615D.jpeg C6AF5251-FBEC-4705-A2AC-D9F51040EDC5.jpeg A4A5982B-B3E0-40EC-AD80-D2E3517578B7.jpeg

I was just experimenting with the clones, ignore those. I was going to try monster cropping but my new light hasn’t came yet so they’re just chilling for the moment. Don’t think I’ll do anything with them now, I’d like to try known genetics next.

Judging by the buckets, I'd say that's likely a 5 gallon pot & sometimes sativa doms move slow through the beginning.
Thanks for the response, I hope that’s all it is. I had another plant in there with her that was definitely more indica judging by the leaves but it turned out to be male. Didn’t have enough room for both under this light anyways.

I think your right about the pot, it’s a bit shorter than those 5 gallon soy sauce buckets (girlfriend works at a Chinese food place), but a bit wider too.

I had a satvia do that last summer outdoors. Looked to be full blown flowering, but it was slower than the indica dom plant that was flying through flower.

If you are outside they may not be geetting complete 11-12 of darkness. My neighbor had a security light that came on constantly and would confuse the 2 girla i had out there. I also heard this could stress and cause them to hermaphadite out. That plant looks healthy as hell though. Great training

Nah inside only. Thought about dropping them down to 11/13 but I’m gonna wait a week or so and see what happens.

I believe so , i have an indica thats on day 33 and my sativa is the same age but has fewer flowers , also i believe sativas dom give less of a yield anyway unless genetics

I prefer smoking sativas anyway, and always have a hard time finding them, so if that’s all it is it is a good thing. Thanks for your input.

Yours are def ahead of mine. Day 18 now, I switched aug 4th. I will keep it updated unless I fail miserably, in which case I’ll disappear in shame.
First don't disappear in shame. I can guarantee you'll fail at this sooner or later but just get back at it.

Look around for light leaks. They don't look like they've fully converted to flowering. The buds at the tops should look more organized instead of just random pistils. Just like what Tormentedangel420 posted

True sativas may not even show any sign of flower for 4 weeks plus a bit. I had a pure sativa, 14-16 week strain that was like that. They are pretty rare, and generally NOT what people think of when they say they love sativas. Most sativa lovers are actually hybrid lovers. Ime most people actually dont like pure sativas much at all unless its ground up and mixed with a good indica in the bowl or joint and in that case its fantastic.

What you said about sativas is true. BTW nice info.

His plant doesn't look like that kind of sativa to me though. The ones I saw growing back in the 60's looked a lot different; more of a vine habit and very thin leaves. His looks like a hybrid as most of what we get today is. I'd expect to see some bud organization. Either way it won't hurt for him to look for light leaks.

In that case I highly doubt this is pure Sativa since I found it in a nug. I don’t know the particular bud it can from, I just saved all the seeds I found over the years and picked a few at random to plant.

i I def agree, hes got a hybrid. It was more of a general statement about sativas. Even still though I'm not worried at all about his plant yet, I commonly dont see much sign of flower for 14 days so I dont worry too soon, plants can catch up quick. I also advocate him buying better seeds for next time, I've ran strains that show buds in 3 days so theres a wide range for sure.
