ahaha I appreciate that to the fullest bigbud I am doing alright with watering so far I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a problem as things get settled in because I know I wont be able to reverse it when it comes to that point. I really like that idea gets rid of the watering restriction I was worried about. Only thing I was thinking is that I should have mounted it a little lower to decrease the time it will now take to veg those plants to the screen especially since I plan on LSTing to get a more thick canopy on contact with the screen. Other then that I am pretty stoked on this grow I know I have the recipe for success as far nutrients and quality care go just going to have to execute it if I start slacking on the updates you'll have to holler at me lol sometimes I get lost in threads and forget to update my own.

I'll be following that grow of yours you have your canopy makes me jealous they just went in the coco and I already want to see the same haha! and yeah bro I started with FFOF at first and switched to Coco on my second grow I get nearly the same growth as someone with hydro is getting the growth is truly explosive and I never have turned back also the fact that it holds water like soil allows me to make quick work of a grow and stick to daily life instead of always worrying about my reservoir its just a little to messy for me I don't like large amounts of salts sitting around building out I think aphids are prone to it. Peace mang :D

Don't worry about the screen being to high, as long as you have enough head room above the screen. You can always put blocks of wood or bricks or something under the pots to raise them up to the screen.

Indeed wattsaver I was thinking maybe cinder blocks but I am honestly content with just vegging them up there its not that far and I figure it will be better that I give myself some room as this is my first scrog attempt

Here are some pictures after week 1 everything is going well the plants are being LST'd happy and healthy.

Subbed, looks good so far. My next grow will be a DWC/Bubbleponic SCROG so I am quite interested in how this will play out.

I would let them veg into the screen, how high can your lights go? it looks as if you may require some more headroom once you get your screen filled; they will stretch out during flowering.

yeah bro the light can go as high as it needs to but I don't think that I will need to go any higher then 18 inches at the most I hope which is why the scrog is designed that way to maximize my light I dont plant on letting the plant grow out of the necessary height range hopefully just see 10" tops through each hole ideally.

I love the exploding growth coco provides me and these 5 gallon smart pots hold water forever its the best of worlds im hoping for both quantity and quality this go I need to break my .5 grams per watt curse hehe...

yeah thats what i thought ?

anyway looking good mate :)

if i were you, i would keep the lights much closer to the plant mate and just let every single stem grow into the screen naturally.. when a top pops up just let it grow vertically under the screen.. when its about filled switch to flower..

im subbed.. really wanna see how much better coco is than soil. :)

here are some pics of my just finished grow.. curing atm..

good luck with it

Hey all thanks for your interest in my thread to much partying need to come back to reality -.- haha...

I am not going to Top or FIMM this grow I don't like the Topping method and I wouldn't think to use FIMM unless I have a 600 or 1000 above a fat 3 month vegged bush

I like the light being a little further just for fire safety and I think the stretching helps as far as getting the plants to the screen.

I am LST'ing just for the fact that I am trying to get multiple tops to the screen at once and make the scroging go by a little faster for the fact that I have more tops to work around with decreasing my veg time on the screen I was told that the fastest way from point A to point B is a straight line.

im looking forward to see your result.. i still disagree that it will go faster.. i think the quite opposite.. i think you will have to have a longer veg time, because when the "tops" reach the screen you will still have to let them grow vertical to fill it..

good luck with it

I appreciate it man this will be my fourth grow but my first scrog so I have nothing to base my actions off of please feel free to give any input on what you see going on because to me its all still pretty new. I also am noticing that the veg time will be longer I was already thinking I should have just went with one plant and I did consider topping from the beginning but I just hate chopping a plant I guess it bothers my OCD or something lol... I also wanted to try the LST because of the research done in the Enter The Scrog thread in the advanced growing forum I am glad people are interested though i'll keep the updates coming along.

i dont really understand why you are LSTing and scrogging...explain?
I have not had a scrog grow yet but I do think there there could be a benefit of some LST before it grows to meets the screen, while it will take longer for the plant to get to the screen but when it does it will have three to five shoots branching off of the main stem at the screen that you can point in different directions to fill up the screen.

I have been doing some reading and it seems if you top it after the first success full round of LST you can have double the shoots at the screen, now with the topping your sure to get smaller main colas when they finally get through the screen but you should get plenty of bud sites with strong branches for support.

Again I have not experience with SCRoG set-ups, but the theory seems to make some sense.

Backing off on the LST now have a good amount of tops ready to hit the screen I would say about four more days until I can start putting in some work.

Plants are looking healthy and happy coco is doing me right I notice these smart pots seem to aid the coco in keeping water stored for quite awhile I am only watering about every 5 days its almost a little to easy but i'm not complaining :) more updates to come wish me luck!
