Dangers of shrooms?

Hey im shroom noobie, I was thinking about trying them out, but I like ot be a more of a soft drug guy, I dont like going into the hard stuff.

Would u consider shrooms a hard drug? Are they really bad for you?

They are not physically harmful. They are less toxic then aspirin. I wouldn't consider mushrooms to be a "hard drug". If you have problems with anxiety you may not want to try them. Other then bringing about latent mental/anxiety problems they will not have a negative effect on your health in any way.
 
The biggest problem with shrooms is eating the wrong ones.... if that happens, you don't get a do over, unless you are a buddhist. :mrgreen:

odds are if someone is selling them as shrooms, they wont kill you. if they are really good, you will think you are dying. just push through and enjoy being reborn.

i wouldnt consider them hard drugs, most are grown all natural, in sterile environments.

As stated above buying fatal mushrooms from a dealer in America is not at all likely. Nearly all fatal mushroom poisonings occur from ingesting amanita phalloides or the "death cap" mushroom. This mushroom has a significantly different appearance then cubensis or panelous mushrooms.

 
Mushroom are not a ‘heavy’ drug but they are not without some degree of risk. When it comes to mushrooms if they have gone bad (dark brown, black, moldy), DO NOT eat them. Moldy or bad mushrooms may contain poisons and harmful bacteria, that could make you very ill.

Mushrooms contain psilocin and psilocybin. These compounds are psychedelics. They will cause an effect similar to a "trip" on LSD. Loss of reality may be experienced and severe anxiety and paranoia can occur. You may experience a bad trip. The most important rule to prevent a voyage into hell is: START WITH A LOW DOSE.

If someone has psychological problems mushroom can add to the problem. Mushrooms like other psychedelics may bring psychological problems to the surface. Now the risks are not great, they are minimal but mushroom in the mind of someone with psychological problems can aggravate them

The things I would say that are of most importance is to be sure that you have real true psilocybin mushrooms and not some of the crap that some people sell/take that are other kinds of mushrooms. Next I would say be sure they are good so you do not get sick. Next like with any psychedelic drug do not take them if you are scared or if you are in a bad mood. You have to be relaxed and you have to be ready for what might seem like a really fast takeoff and a loss of control. People will get ‘pushed back in their seats’ by a rapid takeoff and feel like things are getting out of hand, that things are happening to fast and they will try to control things and you just cannot do that. If you try you will then feel more of a loss of control and panic can set in as a result.

You have to be ready will and able to calmly deal with whatever comes and if not do not do any psychedelic drugs of any kind. I attribute my never having had a bad trip in my life, and that is after doing various kinds of LSD and ‘shroom many times, to my going into every experience with an attitude of this if going to be GREAT, this will be a FUN ADVENTURE and WHATEVER HAPPENS WILL BE COOL!

Your brain will be partially taken over by the active psychedelic drugs but your brain will still shape and form and direct your trip and if you have things pointed in the wrong direction you will not at all like where you end up at. I have had to deal with friends who were having a bad trip, while I was tripping at the same time, and it is not fun or pretty to see and it has to be terrible to experience so do everything you can to avoid such an experience by training yourself to go into each experience like it is going to be better than your birthday, Christmas and drilling the drunken prom queen of your rival high school on the fifty yard line of their football field all wrapped up into one.

If you can do that you will have the time of your life.
 
Buying or not.. I've always picked my own....you should be able to identify the shrooms you want and not depend on others to NOT kill you. Like I said, you don't get second chances. It only takes one wrong shroom to melt your liver.

So what these guys are saying if you are growig a bunch of Herb and paranoid about it. Dont trip on shrooms cause you may cut down you crop if a helicopter, plane, white, black or blue car/van goes near your house, appartment, chill spot. If you see, or think you see any of these things it could prove fatal to live marijuana. But like they said up at the top. Its hard as far as potentcy but maybe not so much a carcinagenz unless you get the wrong shit, and that could happen especially with young, punk ass kids, that will do anything to get liquor, beer, and pussy. The same motive are lesser but also behind every shwag bag resold in the world. I would only use a source that is currently using what your buying, witness the labrat before you experiment. Be a labrat before you give away. That would save alot of problems.
 
if the mushrooms arnt white youll be alright. dont eat past 7 o'vlock the night before you trip so they will activate faster. your not going to die so dont worry about it. just have someone there with you all day who isnt on them to hang out with you and youll be fine. like stated before they cause some feelings of anxiety so dont go any where extremly public like wal-mart or the mall, but like a store or around people will be fine have fun

Folks, get your identifications down if you are going to indulge in shrooms. At least let me know where I can pick up your shoes. i need shoes.

By far the majority of mushroom poisonings are not fatal, and of those proving fatal nearly all cases are attributed to ingesting Amanita phalloides . Cubensis mushrooms bruise blue due to the oxidation of psilocybin. Dry mushrooms will sometimes have dark blue marks indicating a possible cubensis mushroom. Just because a mushroom bruises blue DOES NOT mean it is a cubensis mushroom. A better indicator is the color of the spore print. One can be obtained from a dry mushroom by spraying the under side of a cap with some water then placing the cap on some aluminum foil. If you have a camera you can even post pics on the Shroomery.org forums and they will gladly help you get a proper ID.

It only takes one time doing shrooms to become addicted.

Thats the cold hard truth.

Shrooms are the hardest drugs I know, just stick to coke, heroin, and alcohol you'll be fine.

But honestly just take half an eighth in a comfortable environment. The only real danger is not being prepared for the mental effects, which can take you on a roller coaster ride, or taking too high a dose.

i bought a half eight of shrooms about 2 weeks ago, they have just been in a plastic bag (not sealed) since i got them.... they are not dark brown, black or moldy, but can I still eat them?
How long do shrooms stay good for?
 
Not long. Unless they have been dried first, I'd say it's iffy. Always keep them in paper, not plastic ( i know, you had the top open. Weed too by the way), they will breathe better.

Fresh shrooms need to be digested right away. Their psychoactive elements deteriate pretty quick. Keep them in the fridge just like your button salad shrooms. :peace:

I am the same way. I don't want to do hard drugs so I know where you're coming from. But, I do do shrooms because they aren't that bad for you.

When you do them though make sure these things are true:

  1. You have no worries or anything on your mind.
  2. You are in a stress free environment.
  3. You are not alone for your first time.
Also, depending on the type of shroom, I wouldn't eat at least 3 or 4 hours prior to taking them. You may upset your stomach and possibly throw up like my friend did.

The best time to do shrooms for college students is right after finals week and you're going on a break. Like it is for me this week. But, that's all I have for now. Good luck man, you'll have a great time.
 
Good advice. Environment is a key factor. Mental stability as well. Shrooms amplify your head and if you have little crazies in there, they will come out and get ur ass. :lol: Imagine Charlie Manson on shrooms...oh my.

the definition of a "hard drug" is all a matter of opinion. by some peoples standards weed is a hard drug, by others NyQuil is. some say opium is okay but heroin isnt when its the same substance.

there are no hard drugs. only drugs. its all about what you can handle responsibly. i know people who freak out on weed and i know people who can eat handfulls of pills and function.
 
mushrooms aren't as dangerous as people say. the physical harm from them is little. it could mess with you mentally though. mushrooms can be controlled somewhat before the trip even starts. if you have a positive and happy environment around you, your trip could reflect your surroundings in a good way. and vice-versa when in a negative environment.
the best way to start with mushrooms is by starting with a small dose of maybe 2 grams and eatingore only if you want to. the average dose for a semi-frequent tripper is about an eighth. i usually eat between four and five grams.
if you are dealing with severe depression or anxiety, be careful if you insist on using mushrooms. this can easily send you spiraling into a terrible experience.
many people say that the only way to cure a bad trip is just waiting it out. but through my experiences, a small dose of alprazolam (generic Xanax, an anti-anxiety medicine). maybe about .5-1mg should settle the anxiety and let you get some much needed sleep.

Which is why the prohibition of drugs is such a massive fucking problem. Kids with absolutely no idea as to what they should be taking (or if they should even be taking at all, i.e do they have conditions they don't know about, which will cause a negative reaction on whatever drug?). Being able to go to an educated specialist without a worry about what kind of troubles you will get in, to get useful information for the safe use of drugs would do the world a favor.
