P.s., being clear on the bottom there is a good little window for you to see moisture content. Like in the pic, you can see it's well damp and doesn't need any water whatsoever

Gorilla tape and yeah, I watered too much when I got home because they were so dry. It's the only time I've watered until it ran out the bottom. I won't do that again for a while. Got the roots tucked back into the cups.

I designed and 3D printed an adapter for my fan. I still have to 3D print the base of the adapter. I can run some 3 inch ducting from the fan into the tent. So in the summer I can run the fan in the air conditioned house and cool the tent.

If you are pulling air out of the tent through the carbon filter, you dont need to push air into it...... Also why would you run your carbon filter on a timer? Just run it 24 hours a day at a lower speed. Plants love fresh air.

He's right homie. If you're pulling through your filter 24/7 and have a negative pressure inside your tent (sides suck in once you zip it up) all you'll need to do is open a bottom flap with the mesh and your air conditioned house air in the ambient room, will be pulled in through the mesh.

This is a good video to follow
Their rate of airflow is a little excessive in my opinion as long as you exchange all the air in a tent every 5-10 minutes your good.

I can’t run the inline fan 24/7 just yet, only to cool the tent down when it gets too hot. the rh outside is still in the 30s at best. until the humidity levels come up here, i will just have it kick on when the tent gets too warm or if that’s not enough, then i’ll put it on the timer.

the fan adapter thing was just boredom and not needed. you’re right the negative pressure sucks in plenty of air. i just may need to run a ducting hose from the tent into the main house where it’s cooler in the warmer months.

the room where the tent is gets very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. the air going into the tent in say july, will need to come from the house. cooler air is available just a few feet away so i short length of hose will be enough.

Plants need constant supply of fresh air. Not so much at seedling stage but once they start any sort of vigorous growth.....

Even the ambient house air will be plenty if he pulls through the flap. But even better, put your hose right into a central air vent and tape it up if you can. Not needed but why not. That's all outside, filtered, fresh and co2 rich air.

Space your cobs like this. More space towards the middle. I may have drawn it a bit excessive and over dramatic, but you get the idea. Don't over think it. You just want more cobs out to the ends for even coverage is all.

That baking sheet I linked, so far, is the biggest one I can find at 16"x 22". So if you DO find a bigger one make sure it's as thick or thicker gauge aluminum as the other one. But the one I linked is definitely a good way to go.

once they get going i will start running the inline fan. right now just trying to keep the humidity in the 60s. as soon as that fan kicks on it drops rh into the 30s.

Yes the air in a house is plenty for just about any tent. Im just saying you need the circulation as soon as they are more than a few inches tall.

thanks guys. i think once they get out of the seedling stage i’ll be able to run the inline fan 24/7 because i won’t need to keep the humidity up so high in the tent.

i suppose i could also start running a second humidifier outside of the tent near the intake. then it won’t be pulling in such dry air. that may allow me to start running the inline even sooner. that sounds like a plan.

Yes use a humidifier/dehumidifier to control humidity in my opinion the airflow in the tent is much more important than the humidity but again that's not something to worry bout right this moment.

True. right now, 50-75% humidity and 75-85°F is more important for a new seedling. You can always throw a plastic ziploc over the cup, or use a clear Tote turned upside down for a great humidity dome. They also sell cake holders at dollar store that are really nice.

rh in the tent is currently at 64% +/- 4

temps are 78 +/-3

i will sacrifice perfect humidity for better air flow very soon but for now will maintain those numbers on an 18/6

in the meantime i’ll order both a humidifier and dehumidifier. i wont need help lowering rh for a while here but best to have it on hand in advance (like tp ).

im gonna try that idea of running an extra humidifier by the intake and running the inline in a few days. just gotta order it. it should definitely help.

Just to ease your mind a bit I just started 12 seedlings in a closed closet, no airflow at an avg 27% RH. Right now in my grow room its 16%RH and my plants are doing fine. Here they are today day 9 of veg.

Edit: yes they will grow faster with higher RH
