I'd say get 15-20 8COB kits and frame them into 1x8 bars.

And hang them all spaced 1'-1'3"apart.
THIS would be quite a bit of coin, but oh so sick. Or make 8 X's of an 8 cob kit, 2 4' bars and have them each on their own light spinner . Would only have to buy 8- 8 cob kits rather than 15-20. Maybe hang 3 8' bars of red/blues inbetween each 4' space.

Thanks for your input Atulip.
I'll draw it up on some paper and see what this would look like.

Wow looks pretty good mate.
Given me a bit to think about that's for sure.

I was wondering approximately how far down the the cree 3070 or 3590 cobs penetrate into the canopy running at 1400ma? Im running led lights now and have several different brands but want to set up another room but just wanted to know the best size plant to grow for these cob lights so i dont grow too big or too small. Advice and your experiences will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Gday guys.
I have a 20 foot shipping container that I want to set up with these lights.
Could anyone suggest a design and layout that would suit.
Thanks for any input
whats the width of the container? do you want the whole area lit?
Cheers

Would you recommend going with 1750mA instead of 1400. Your canopy is nice and thick and how many cobs are you running in that area. How big is that area? Thanks
1750 for sure. More if possible. You can ALWAYS dim, but if you dont start high, you're stuck at 1400. And it's a 4x4 area using 8 3590's on my diy light and 4 3070's on a GoGreenLED.

Makes total sense. Glad you said that because dimming it is such a easy solution. Ive just read so much on people using 1050 and 1400 so i figured thats the way to go. I have a 10x10 room and plan on filling another 10x12 room. If you dont mind me asking qhat kind of numbers are you pulling on your 4x4. I was thinking about adding a lil extra led lights like some more red, far red, and uv. What do you think about that and should i do 3 watt or 5 watt? You know how we all want to get the most weight with the best quality and be cost effective. I love the leds compared to hps

Gday Mark.
The internal dimensions are 2.35m wide and 2.6m high.
I am thinking of having a walkway down the centre ( not lighted) and maybe 4.6 m in length from the back of container( leave some room at opening for services).
Cheers

I use far red 15 mins at end of 12/12. 5 of which are before lights turn off. Other deep red or royal blues I'm sure wouldn't hurt but I'm not the guy to ask. And this is the fist rub with this exact set up so I don't know yet!

So we are talking 6.1 metre length, useable light area 4.6m. I assume 1 metre on the walk way. so light area approx 4.6 x 1.35m hanging from approx 1.5m? Light Area 6.2 square metres, sound about right
Cheers
