is there someone on here who didn't flush b4 harvest send me a pm? I have a few questions that I don't want people to argue over haha. Just wanna know how it tasted before putting them into a jar. And then the after of a few weeks of curing

I tasted mine and it's been drying for 5 days just to see and it tasted like chemicals. Was just wondering if that fades away while in jars?

I don't have that issue, I've been chopping off little bits here to improve airflow for my plants. The branches I take off I dry them without trimming anything. I let it dry 48hrs completely intact and then I remove the fan leaves. I trim the non sugary parts of the sugar leaves and then let them dry longer until the stems are about to snap. Then I will usually smoke these or wait a little longer until stem snaps and then throw them into a jar until they are moist enough to dry again. I just keep this cycle up and smoke a little here and there. I'm smoking some of my ak47 and ultra lemon haze and I swear the high and taste is better than anything I smoke from the dispensary imo. Maybe I just love my plants so much that I am biased but damn the smell and taste and high are all incredible. No flushing whatsoever, I feed them aloe water or molasses water every once in a while too if I feel like they need a pick me up.

I was actually about to start a thread and ask how much the taste changes after cure because I kind of prefer the way my bud smokes freshly dried. It's not overly dry and brittle like the buds I get from the dispensary.

I wonder if it's because I got a seed from a bag. Maybe it isn't a great plant to begin with lol. Is my 2nd harvest so I'm still learning. I smoked some this moringing and I passed out before I finished. Bow and lighter still laying on my chest.

I would assume chopping to early could cause bad taste too? It smelled so damn good while flowering.

Anything 65% rh or higher will likely taste wet and lacking in flavor, sometimes harsh if not slow dried. Post cure should be the plants true potential which will be much better in aroma, taste and smoothness. High can be much better too.:bigjoint:

it's not going to start tasting good until about a month. Mine tasted like weed tobacco the first few weeks. Also try to trim as much of the sugar leafs off. I was one of those guys that try to keep all the sugar leafs that have trichs on them. But you should just remove them.. it will make your buds much more potent and smooth.

i am about a 3 weeks from my harvest and it's starting to smell really nice now.

Seriously i would not smoke bud fresh off the vine ... What's the point ?..
It will taste shitty ...
Let your work cure ... Let its terpene profile setup.
Your work isnt done ... This is the time NOT to fuck the cure.
Dry it proper ... Regulate the RH during jarring and let it be for at a minimum of 2 weeks.
4 weeks in and magic happens.

I've had bagseed turn into pretty decent stuff so I doubt that's the issue. Chopping early will definitely affect the final product. And 5 days isn't really very long. Patience my friend. Let the plant fully mature and definitely give it a proper dry/cure time.

Ok! I got the jars going but only one hygrometer. But they came from the same area so I'd assume they are very very close to having the same RH. I'll make sure to do this plus I'll have another one harvested if I go for 4 weeks

I'll take your advice to heart! Got it curing now.

Thanks...what do you think of ther growery bulletin board site overall?

I am considering finding another cannabis info site due to certain trolls on certain forums on this site and administrative support doing nothing to curb obvious antagonist trolling!

Sorry...rant off !

Excellent link!

Cheers

I just search wherever, and if I really like what I read I'll try it. Like here I was going to do hps but set up a COB instead because of growmau. And other sites have other views it's out there for view why not use any and all resources for info. I just like here because I found it like 9 or some years ago. I first did some reading up and got the bare bare minimum, light soil, nute, and seed. With just some basic stuff I got awesome guidance from here and was very happy with what I made. Just was nice crowd so i stayed.

I've been following peoples advice here and removing most of the sugar leaves and the taste does seem to be noticeable smoother and better tasting. I never knew trimming was so much work, buying a pair of trimming scissors and gloves really made a huge difference as well.
