CSI humboldt thread

had to get a couple more pics of the T-1000 x Tk before i gave her the chop. The whole plant had beautiful hues of purples and blues and the skunky kush terps just intensified in the best way possible in the last weeks of bloom. Calyx to leaf ratio is slightly less than ideal and the larf is larfy but im willing to overlook it, all things considered.

Nice Job! You killed it! Look's very similar to the Flight Risk and Domestic Disturbance I grew out. No Surprise since similar genetics.

Decided that ive got a plethora of gassy terps at this point so i went another direction with my latest CSI order, Lemon Tree x Lemon Party. Gonna pop 2-3 in a 3x3, clone em and find/keep the best lemon expression of the bunch. Plus the freebie pack (Diesel x Giesel) was my 1st choice anyway and it feeds my gas terp addiction so its a win-win.

Sent the cash out today, that wait for the packs to arrive is the closest ive felt to a kid on Christmas morning in 20 years lol.

I'll probably get some Pineapple x Geisel at some point, maybe the 420 Special.
The Geisel sounds like a nice plant the way they described it.

So has anyone found out what the pineapple is? Indica? Sativa? Hash plant?
I don’t know why Caleb doesn’t do S1 of the pineapple and the shishkaberry he has.
I’d be all over shish S1’s.

Fems are fine, Caleb just mentioned the s1s are harder to find true keepers or solid plants out of. They’re there, just have to run more seeds or get lucky.

GLO was a seed bank that no longer exists. It was run by a nut job that gave away crazy deals because he wasn’t paying the breeders he was getting seeds from. Then on top of that he was growing and making crosses with those stolen genetics. Scammed many customers, but had too good of deals to pass up.
How many times will the S1 question have to get answered in this thread? S1's are an incross against itself - the seeds have all the original genetics, but have been inbred. This is the case for *every* S1, not just csi.

When you buy S1 you are doing a hunt. Plain and simple. They aren't "bad S1s", they're just S1s. S1s have very high variance - both to the awesome side and to the terrible side. All S1s.

If you don't want to hunt then grow a hybrid. If you're growing an S1, you gotta pop 5-10 seeds if not more to find the keeper.

Sorry for the rant and nothing against the post I responded to but the nonsense thrown around here about csi s1s makes me nuts.... If someone is growing a single bean out of an S1 pack they are doing it wrong, plain and simple. If you aren't cloning your s1s in case they are the stud you're doing it wrong. The whole point of s1s is hunting for a keeper you will grow for a long time.

Last round I grew 5 of the purple urkle x t1k beans (amongst others) and there were 3 good ones, one not good one, and one total stud that I'm going to be growing for years... And that was a hybrid not even an s1. You're growing seeds, not clones. I also grew 5 train wreck s1s and none were worth keeping. Is it my fault none were good? No, it's just randomness and generics. If every bean in an S1 run is amazing it's for sure not an s1. You have to account for the variability inherent in genetics. Every seed is a lotto ticket. Better input genetics raises your odds but no seed is ever a sure thing.

i asked caleb on instagram, but unfortunately didn't get a response. my bro is popping some pineapple x sherbert i got from CSI. there are a couple threads on ICMAG which talk about a clone-only pineapple found in cali. i'd probably guess this is what he has

My opinion is that when a selfed plant shows instability in the seeds, it indicates that the line is unstable and requires proper backcrossing. It’s time consuming grunt work. It doesn’t mean fem seeds are bad. Shitty unworked lines shouldn’t be inbred, but if complete morons will pay $20+ a seed for it then it is fair market. But you can’t get away with that shit in any other breeding world (dogs for example) so not sure why it works here. Ignorance is bliss, especially if you make seeds. Nspecta is also on record saying the TK S1 are better than the cut itself, I believe that is an indicator of a line that was worked to stability before the cut was released, it’s not dumb luck, someone put in the work.
If a "line is worked" it's not an S1. Maybe it's a back cross, maybe a hybrid, but not an S1.

None of what was written here has anything to do with S1s, it's all just made up. An S1 literally only has a single plants genetics in it, there's no "working" whatsoever. A breeding line is a cross, flat out plain and simple and has nothing to do with an S1.
