if you dont mind could you explain f1 vs f2??
F1 is the first cross. the seed should be 50% of each parent. F2's become a random mix. F1 should all show the same phenotype. when you get past that is when things start becoming scrabbled.

is there a way to stabilize the f1 cross?

Big props to the successful breeders! You do the world a great service. Best of luck with that strain, and keep me on the short list when in comes to getting a cutting. I promise to keep it rare. :leaf:

F1's are stable.
OK still slightly confused here

ummm so an F2 is when you take 1 male cracker jack and 1 female crackerjack and cross breed that correct???

How do you get a seed from the F1 cross? Force hermie??

I have no clue how hermies entered your thought process. Reading your post confused me just as much as you are confused.

Hijack X Green Crack = F1 CrackerJacks
F1 CrackerJack x F1 CrackerJack = F2 CrackerJacks

Make sense?

ya i understand that whole math equation you got goin on im just wondering how to keep your genetics of the f1 cross without cloning. thats why i said hermie cuz if a plant pollinates itself then i would assume the offspring will be will be highly similar if not essentially a cloned seed. plus you got the bonus of "feminized" seeds because i think hermies is where seed banks get there fem seeds

once you cross an F1 with an F1 you have to start doing "selective breeding". you pick out the F2 female with the traits you desire and match it with an F2 male. then cross those and continue. thru numerous generations you will start to see stabilization. :bigjoint:

is that why some strains have number in them i.e. skunk #1 and OG 18??
what exactly are desired traits to look for in male plants?

edit-Also if you want to do a 3 way cross whats the best way to do so? introduce all 3 at the begging and have mad orgies untill you see somthing you like?
P.S. srry if im taking your Awesome new strain thread and turning it into a beginners breeder thread

i think to do a 3-way i would take this F1 of cracker jack and cross it with a stable skunk strain(or whatever), or what is referred to as an S1. the resulting seeds would be F1 3-ways. i think. i'm kinda guessing. i haven't read thru the book lately.

desired traits are the traits you as the breeder desire. this is entirely up to you and the final goal of the strain you are breeding.

this came from a cutting of the "real" green crack. these are F1's.
is that the only way to get the real deal then? by cutting a clone? i followed that link, $495 a pack:o!!! it claimed 47% thc tho (lol) is that even possible? :peace:

Let me rephrase that question then. What traits that can be found in male plants are usually considered "desired" to breeders

also what book are you referring to?
