first time growing indoors and i had a few questions.

i currently have 8 seeds i been saving for a little. i dont know what strain. i will have 250 watt MH ready for the veg phase. my first question is, when would be a good time to add nutes and what should i use. keep in mind im not going to have a huge budget. the light itself is killing me. im looking for quaility although im hoping to harvest at least 14 grams per plant.
my other question was how long is this going to take, again hoping i can harvest at least 14 grams per plant? id prolly run 12-12 to bud them and 18-6 for everything else.

well.... a half oz per plant is a good goal, you might be able to do that with a few plants, not under a mh all the way. You don't add nutes until about the end of the second week for seeds or clones, then 1/4 strength and bumb it up a quarter with each succesive watering.
Its going to take about 5 months from seed to weed so you have a lot of time to study. VV:eyesmoke:

5 months from seed to weed? Are you serious? That's if you don't induce flowering right?

I am serious as a heart attack. Do I know it can be done in less time? Maybe you would like to look at my journal. He isn't starting with clones, he is starting with seeds. By the time he harvests, hangs and cures it will be five months, seriously. And that would be after forcing flowering between 6 and 10 weeks. VV:eyesmoke:

Yeah, I think people are used to just talking about flowering time so the total time including curing sounds like a long time.

1st off i commend you on purchasing the right equipment for what you are trying to do on a tight budget... i'm nearing the end of 3 months of eating rice and hot dogs to pay for all the right equipment.

your rocking to have 250 MH light for veg... one question is the bulb an actual MH grow bulb or one purchase from lets say HD? grows bulbs are more efficent veggers than typical MH

however the MH will only take you through the first phase of your journey...consider at least 400 HPS after about 5 or 6 weeks of life 4 weeks is the minimum veg time but the longer you let em go the better the potentcy & yeild. if you want shave this time by about 4-5 weeks start cloning (using the aquarium method its cheap and works crazy good!)... run both lights together for maximum benefit...

nutes... fish emulsion 5$ can carry you through the complete veg cycle but after 4 weeks start mixing it with some vegging hydro ferts... when going into flowering stage get flowering hydro ferts... if you cant find hydro ferts get to farmers CO-OP they should have some there and maybe a couple bucks cheaper.. and while your there pick up some SUPERthrive and unsulphered molasses... that should do you for nutes... but definatly look into getting the best available

hope this helps
