convince me led is worth it.

maybe you would have grown better weed, if you stuck with one thing. switching it up all the time means you were chasing something. I just CONTINUALLY grow dank.

I'm sorry... did you look at my stuff?

First thing is first, any grower knows genetics is by far the most important. If the genetics won't allow big yields or high THC/CBD then no matter who grows it, it won't be "competitive." If you are getting big yields with your lights, it's no so much the lights, the newtz, the temps or you.... but the genetics. 2017-04-26 17.32.59.jpg

Here is a "mixed grow I did HPS and LED... can't even tell the difference between what grew what. Nanolux DE

I have not grown in bloom using cobs

but I have to say the gravita DE bulbs are a big step up from the std mogul socket hps

I have the gravita bulbs running in bloom after years with std hps
the 1000 watt DE bulbs throw a much more even light and fewer hot spots so the colas on the outside of a 5x5 canopy grow almost as fat as the ones closest to the light compared to std mogul socket hps

I picked up a 15 to 20% yield increase switching to the DE bulb

same clones

I don't understand your lingo... Are you saying I don't sound full of chit or that I'm in the grow of people that claim LED grow full on better weed fo dayz?
i'm saying at least you didn't make a bs claim about led grown weed, BUT
you are wrong about reflector replacement too.

Our bracket is designed to be able to change you reflector quickly. Miro aluminum can not easily be cleaned, and when you clean it, it will never be as good as a new reflector. We recommend to change reflectors every year in a “dirty” environment (dust, foggers, sprays) or every two years in a clean environment.

Ok, thank you.

To be fair I said that you will need to replace the reflector was all, I didn't give a time line. So I am still right. I'm also right that the best HPS lights still cost more per 4x4 than my lights to build and mine are near twice as good considering the grows are the same and I use 50-60% the watts an HPS has to to keep up.

I would imagine

the light spread in an led set up to be superior provided there are enough cobs or boards vs watts to spread the light

but I also imagine that an hps would throw light deeper to the bottom of the plant for those plants with lots of stretch and few fan leaves

I would guess;
a led might perform better if the plants where short or in a scrog or sog style
but
if growing 4ft tall large plants with no lst or tie downs the DE hps might perform better

personally I wouldn't even consider going back to a std hps mogul bulb and would take either of the other two with joy

man, you guys really have to reach for stuff,LOL. It runs at 12 hrs a day. 1 year is nothing, especially when I'm still getting the weight I get. Wonder why none of the REAL lighting companies are switching to cobs.
Only riu garage guys who fight among each other.
It takes alot for the big companies to change lights. They don't make easy desicion quickly and LED is still new. They wait for all the kinks to be fine tuned and research studies to be done which takes years. Many of the big companies are wanting to change but are waiting for further proof. They won't base it off internet forum talk.

Your ignorance to see possible change will be your own downfall, I watched this exact same dilemma unfold in the aquarium world where we were using MH and T5 and LED couldn't compete. Well as time went on sure enough Leds caught up. They surpassed T5 and MH and it's not even debated anymore. Took around 7 years for the old school haters to shut up and finally open their eyes. Hate on LED all you want while the rest of the world leaves you in it's dust. Because it's being adopted by everything. It just takes some time to perfect before it's just right.

You talk purely about weight and reference to lightning which shows lack of knowledge and experience. A photon is a photon. As long as you have the right intensity and spectrum the rest falls into genetics, nutes, and your personal skills. I aim for potency more than pounds, but to each their own.

Uhh what?? You're arguing in favor of LED, as am I...and that's a pretty basic "newb" argument. Kinda confusing
What.....cant even remember what you were motoring on about? You wanted an argument, I succintly stated photons and you changed the subject......

Knowing the correct terminology goes along way, because you make it sound as if you dont know a damn thing about LED, my bad....

What is your problem? You think typing 1 word and calling someone a "newb" is what I meant in my request for a technical argument? You're not one of the people capable of fulfilling that request it seems.

I know the terminology. You're just being a dick to be honest and the only thing that's doing for you is making you seem stupid. Go ahead and elaborate on that 1 word argument if you even can...
