Computer (internet) question

I've been stealing someone's wireless signal lately. They don't have a it locked. Is there anyway they can cause harm to my computer? or hack into it and get my passwords or anything?

I know enough about computers to just get by

Thanks in advance

I doubt it unless they work for microsoft or something.I hear about people hacking into computers though when they dont have a secure network. But since your just stealing theres you shouldn't have anything to worry about unless you got some weird geek computer guy who lives in close enough range of the signal he might do it but thats very unlikely

All your doing is using their signal. It's your computers firewall and anti-virus software that is the primary defense. You should be fine....been piggy-backin for a long time. It's relatively safe...

If you're using someone elses signal, all they have to do is set one of their PCs to the demilitarized zone and run a packet sniffer on the computer that is set as the demilitarized zone. From there they can sniff out any passwords you use, and any data you transfer that isn't encrypted or going through a secure connection.

They probably left their wireless connection unsecured so they could steal info from piggy backers.
Not a bad idea really.

I had no password on my network for a while, I do now, but now I can't get my son's laptop or the wii to connect.

That's not good :(
