Common cause of bottom leaves near soil "yellowing"....

Just thought I'd post this since I haven't seen anyone write about it, but I've figured out that a lot of the problems with lowest leaves yellowing on "soil grows" is the watering of plants with ferts mixed in water. I'm always dumping the water into my plants and do it pretty fast, so I often wind up dumping at least some directly on the lower set of leaves(5 finger ones). By the time the 7 fingers are growing, they are high enough to avoid my sloppy watering habits. Otherwise, there is no problem with my plants even though some of the lower leaves look unhealthy! Just a thought to ponder when you see those yellowing/dying lowest sets of leaves........ I don't grow hydroponically, so I can't comment on that.

Old age.

If the new growth is looking good and most of the rest, don't concern yourself with the the leaves at the very bottom.
