Lol smoking rooms!
The holiday inn near the airport told me they didn't even want me smoking in the parking lot.

I've never heard about the local rule but my guess is to keep hookers out
They usually smoke men's poles and little fire usually occurs...usually.

I had the same issues with no locals when I had a day between places to live.
I believe they put the rule in place to keep the crackheads and junkies away who hide there to get high.
No sharing when nobody knows where they are...
and i get that and am ok with it but it shouldve been noted on the website ya know?

ya and i have no problem with the rule in general just shouldve been noted on their website
You know , and I mean you had a great excuse at the same time. Could be lots of legitimate reasons a local person or family may need a room. Hmm live n learn for me.
I think if they said ' no " you live here...I'd be shocked with surprise.

Seems a bit discriminatory to me.
from my understanding if you own something you can make rules
if the owner so choses not to allow locals due to past problems, i have no problem with it
but it should be clearly noted.

there was other hotels where i was from, that allowed locals.

Guess they had too many rooms partied in a ruined...I'd stop it then as well.
Although maybe allow it in a family case...I dunno.

Hey everyone just wanted to let you know this dive thinks its ok to charge me $150 for smoking in my room when that wasn't the case. I was in the room spinning one up to go have outside when I left the room I ran into the maid. Anyways the morning I go to get up and find a letter under the door that $150 had been stole off of my credit card due to smoking. Wtf so I went to the front desk explained I was not smoking in my room when this bitch pulls a picture out of a piece of brown leaf or some shit from the bathroom floor !!! Wtf so I said that's your proof then this witch says well your room smelled like marijhana lol so explained I have a medical lisence she still wouldn't take the charge off!!! What a fucken joke
I could be wrong but pretty sure you can phone your credit card company, dispute and reverse the charge. At that point it would be up to the hotel whether they want to take you to small claims court or not.

I think a hotel should offer a few non smoking rooms on a top floor if possible. Or an end room in a motel. Some cig smokers are pretty old and pretty addicted.
