Hey good folks, im just about to start my first coco slab grow. Im going to be watering 3-5 times a day so i get hydro roots. But to get hydro roots do i have to start them in hydro from cuttings or can i clone in jiffy pucks and then put them in the slabs and get the hydro effect when i start watering 3-5 times a day..? Some guidens would be apreasiated;-)

what's up it's been a long time since I've been in here, anyway I'm running Larry OG in a Ebb n grow system with 2 gallon pots ( smart pots) using coco (fine coco) I'm running the entire house and garden line. I know it's a bit unorthodox but I thought I'd give it a try and see how this works out. Anybody ever grown Larry OG in coco with this system? Any tips besides the calcium and magnesium hogging of the coco?
1st time growing with coco and 1st time with this strain.

All that you should do get a good runoff daily and every 4th watering is 1/2 strength for 2x as long. I like strains that are heavy eaters and when I started feeding daily I figured less food more often should work. This way, no salts, no buildup, stable, and without the intense nature of a drencher. Remember this, salt buildup is far more damaging when it becomes dry and recrystallizes, so keep it wet especially when you run hot. Also, frequently flushing this way is the way to get those locked up elements stored in the coco either out or available. Flushing coco can shock certain sensitive genetics. It is generally not fun for the plant or the grower, I dilute. "when in doubt....flush the shit out" however the solution to pollution is dilution. Go get em

Listen up. I love Larry, coco, h/g, etc. That hogging of C/mg will progress into the beginning of lockout around 1/2 way through flowering usually. Larry is a pigggy though and needs his minerals aggressively so to prevent buildup every 4th watering dilute nutrients to 1/2 and give them 2x the amount of water. Also, do not let the coco dry and get 25% drainage every time. The shooting powder is the product they give you in satchels as flower enhancer and it is amazing!!!! This acts by counteracting the plants instincts to slow flower production and instigating another rapid developmental period. dont be afraid of food.

For the sake conversation here goes....I like to just let you know that salt is far less damaging to a plant when it is in water, so do not let your coco dry ever. The easiest way is every 3-4 waterings just feed 1/2 strength for 2x as long. However, the rule for lockouts is to flush 2x the volume of the container@ 300ppm (100cal mag 200 base). Another thought is the use of humic acids to increase your plants ability to metabolize them and making them healthier and big. Always feed at least 300ppm even to flush. The fungi will still colonize the coco and can be revitalized by the feeding of carbohydrates, maybe add more fungi. go big.

I'm experimenting with this right now. Ammended coco, and AACT. So far i'm pretty impressed. . .:weed:

Im going to be using drip clean, but plan on a 1/4 strength flush every other res change! Not going to flush from the res!
im going to hand water them. Also been eyeing blumats,

anybody here using them?

i keep reading all the talk about runoff being a must with coco but i havent had any problems running it like promix with just normal waterings.i run my coco girls around 1/2 strength nutes in veg and 3/4 strength in flower but i do try to make sure it doesnt get too dry.it does get pretty dry once in a while but i do a decent job of not letting that happen.when it dries i will run weak nutes,like 300-400 ppm that day and then go back to my normal feeds.heres some bubblegum and power kush in 5 gallon pots of coco,the pk is about a month ago,the bgum is still in flower.im running ionic and a/n in both the coco and promix but im really diggin this coco shizzle,peace

I do the hand water too and have switched to big plants, big pots, daily water(ideally), and my nutrients have stayed the same. I cant decide if the 1600 I used to top out at will be affected? I am wondering if I should just do what you do? Without build up is more juice a better angle? also does the fact that my plants are 2x bigger this time matter. So far so good. I love those plants you have....any tips or suggestions perhaps for growing big productive plants? how many 5 gallon pots per 1000w?

Ive heard that the drip clean should be used from the start, and not be added later lets say mid flowering. Any opinions on that? btw im using cannas drip clean.

Drip clean is to be used from start to finish, not to be added from the halfway point
