yeah it will still be 4 cxbs. 3590 or 3070

4 cxas wont light up at 143V per datasheet, but it might work

Hi! im setting a 16 cxb3070 3000k or 3500k in a 4x4 tent they would be running at 0,7a equals 403,2w.
One question about the driver HLG-185H-C700A ,could run 8 led runing at 0,7a? that would be:
Each led 36v * 0,7 = 25,2w *8= 201,6w
Total voltage is 36 * 8= 288v

HLG-185H-C700A 200.2W 700mA143-286V CC

So, by real maths, but not real cause not counting the loosing watts, its seem that i would top both W and V.

If the answer to the question is not, what would be the apropiate driver?

Maybe 4 HLG-185H-C1400B?

I would go with the 1400's growth with the the 700 is going to be slow I use that driver when I'm pressed for space and I need the veg too to slow down when I use the 1400 I get faster growth and bushier plants

It doesnt work like that. forget about watts for a moment. volts are your concern if you want the chips to light up

youre close. you need to know the chip voltage at 700 mA. it is not 36V. you can look it up here or here.

once you determine what the voltage is at 700 mA, multiply that by number of cobs and see if it fits your driver

So now with that been told, 16 cob cxb3070 running at 0,7a with 2 drivers is the setup.

But before ordering, is a great setup? am i having any mistake?Could be a better setup for 4x4, i rather the efficiency more than watts thats why im running at 0,7.I know that 3590 are better but they are more expensive.Maybe for the second setup :)

But still with open mind to any change that any of you, masters, can give me.

I have CXA3070, CXB3070, and CXB3590s.
Honestly I think maybe the 3590s yield less for me.
I know this makes no sense, but 3 grows in a row the lower prices Cree cobs are yielding more

I run my cobs at 500ma and I get great rsults so 700 will be great as well.

This isn't incredible. Your setup might match the output of the one type over the other better, or maybe it's how they're wired. It happens, there are a lot of variables.

also at a given current there isnt that much difference between a 3590 and 3070 in lumen output as the 3070s are running higher voltage. if your setups are different and the 3590 is running hotter than the 3070, the 3070 can actually output more at a give current, the 5% difference here is even within the realm of binning....

Same height, same HS, same drivers and wiring.
They are sharing a single pot to dim them as a group.
The variable is the Forward Voltage and placement in tent.
The 3590s in front and 3070s in back

This is more anecdotal at best because there is overlap from the other cobs.
They share a tent have no lenses or reflectors etc...

Hlg 320-2100 will drive 4 cxb3590's at how many watts? Also is it a good idea to add this driver if my other 4 cob bars are running on 1400 meanwells? 4x4 tent. I have two bars in the tent with plans to build a third for a total of 12 cobs in the 4x4 if that helps.

I think that 2100 will output around 75 watts each to the cobs

were does the data come from on the vero's? based on everything I could extrapolate from the datasheets the Gen 7 vero 29 seems to be on par with the cxb 3590 atleast when it comes to running on low current and temperature. It has substantially better performance then the gen 6. a lot of the information ive found comparing the vero to the cxb they used the Gen 6 not the Gen 7. can anyone confirm which generation of vero these spreadsheets are using ?

obsbiously this thread is a bit old but just to clarify for people the vero 29 3000k 36v version at 1400ma 25 degrees celcius now gets 176 lm/a (bit lower at 50 celcius but i personally run overcooled)way more then these spreadsheets suggest perhaps that's cause the Gen 7 came out after the cxb 3590 did its bridgelux answering cree. Cree sets the standard to beet and then afterwards someone has to meet it at a better price. not knocking anyone good information.. but unfortunately LED tech is progressing so fast that this information is now just misleading people into buying cree. the cree data is good but the vero is obsolete

I got a problem I'm trying to get 3 cxa 3590 to fire up on and HLG 185-1400 and no dice on two will light up when I try and wire the 3rd no dice. What give I'm pretty sure they are 3590 maybe they are 3070's but still 3 should light up right?

yes even if they were 3070 that driver should fire all 3 cobs.

gen7 didnt exist when these threads were made. theres at least a half a dozen chips out that are both more efficient and cheaper than cxb3590 at this point
