just a couple questions. im adding co2 to my room and i will be using a controller

1. does my room have to be completely sealed to get the benefits of co2? or will i just be using bottles faster?

2. where is the best location for my co2 controller to get good readings?

Yes, you room needs to be sealed or the the co2 will all rush out with the exhaust air. And co2 is not good for people or animals in the living quarters. Especially the animals that are lower to the ground..

i guess i should have been more specific. the room is not vented at all..its just not 100% sealed like there is no vacuum when you open the door.

but what i mean was..my controller that reads the ppm levels..where is the best location for it in my room

i like to keep my monitor at plant level, near a fan if possible. Don't put it right in the fans path, just so air is moving around it. Make sure you have a fan moving air from the floor towards the ceiling due to the fact that C02 is heavy. Good luck. JR

Not really, everyone makes a huge deal of how it's dangerous, but in reality you need ppms over 2000 to come anywhere near harmful. I have noticed that when I am in my tent I will start to get a headache but that's pretty much it. As soon as I leave the area it goes away.

OSHA says you can work in a 5000 ppm area for 8 hrs and that's acceptable. Only until you start to hit the 30,000 ppm range will you feel the effects right away. Be safe and let us know...JR

Note you might look into switching over to natural made CO2, 2 cups sugar / 2 tbl spoons of yeast in gallon jug makes alot of fresh CO2, and also save you aliitle doe in the long run trust me, I used to use tanks at from aqua center and it aint cheap

I call bullshit.....^^^^

No way can sugar and yeast be cheaper in the long run then a refill on a 20# tank. I can get it filled for 14 bucks and it will last for about 4 weeks. I don't know, maybe it's only pennies apart. I know the up front cost in more for tank Co2. JR
