Hi all. First time grower. Going to flip very soon. Also going to try to get a perpetual grow happening.

When's the latest I can take clones??

I think the latest would be about 11:59 pm. If you wait a minute longer, it would be early.

Hmmmm.

Nah... Some wait 2 weeks into flower, but anytime during veg as long as you have enough plant there to clone.

You can take clones at any time, even in the early stages of flower (although I wouldn't recommend that unless absolutely necessary, like if you are sexing prior to full blown flowering).

Thanks for the advice. Why would you not recommend it??

Take your clones the day before or the day of your switch to 12/12

You take the clones after the switch here are a couple of reasons not to:
1-If plant is in Bud, you will destroy bud sites...
2-Your clone will need to "Re-veg" and it takes a couple weeks
3-You will get really funky weird growth, and sometimes, it don't go back to Veg, normal...

I usually take my clones when I am trimming a plant up to put it into flower....so basically the day before it goes into flower.

Look up monster cropping. That's when you take a clone after you are already seeing flowers. Yes, it does take longer to go back into veg, but there are advantages.

The funky growth you will see can work out perfectly if you usually bend your plants. When it goes back into veg I've seen them shoot out like 5 branches in different directions and the plant basically does what I'd have done with the bend. This guy talks about it http://www.theweedblog.com/monster-cropping-marijuana-plants/

You can take cuttings for clones up until the mother plant has been at 12/12 for a week. If you are trying to hurry things along that is the way to go. Many think you cannot take clones after the plant goes to 12/12. Wrong. I have run a perpetual grow for years and supply 80% of my plants through cloning. BigSteve.

I've taken clones day before harvest with great success.
I will be taking some clones today of Blue Dream that are
5 weeks in flower. Last Blue Dream clone I took at the end
of flower ended up growing to 9' high and 9' wide all the
way around. It was a monster straight from Hell.
Most growers take cuttings in veg though.
I take my cuttings in flower because the plants are more mature,
branches are more woody and has a more established root system.
