can i clone a plant by just cutting off a shoot and sticking it in soil under lights on 12/12???
i dont have any rooting gel but might have some powder but what will be my succes rate if i just simply cut off the branch shoot i want with a clean razor and i just simply put it in a cup of soil will this way work? i never cloned before

Do you have plan aspirin? That will work to grow roots. I heard weeping willow tips if you crush them up boil them and strain the water through a coffee filter and let the water set to room temp. Then set your clone in a glass jar. And aspirin is willow bark. Im to broke to buy aspirin to try it and im also to far away from a willow tree, So I cant try it. thats why I ask a question. about cloning and didnt get a resopns so I hope someone will help you out on here today i didnt have no luck. I take it the smart people are off today.

Scratch the stem lightly split it and make small notches in the stalk also.I know people who never use Hormone. Not me though.Heres an old recipe from the 1800's,,,Take a couple of handfulls of Willow branches and place in boiling water.Immediately remove from high heat and cover overnight.Mother Earths Rooting Compound.

Well I was giving you ideas YES you can use just water it takes 3-4 weeks to grow roots. And stunts the Growth 1 week after that. So I hope that help you out. And maybe GOOGLE it. If you dont want people to try and help you.

You can get rooting powder at HomeDepot for less than $5, that will greatly increase your chances of getting roots on your cutting. But I think you can just cut the branch and plant it in a light soil, watering until damp/moist.

Dont tell him to use cloning gel, powder he wants to know if he can use water!!!! lol So let him he is the one going to have to pay for electric for 4 weeks just to grow a tiny clone that will die. Or he could have just spend the 5 dollars so get your fat ass off the couch and get some cloning powder of gel, if you cant wait!!

:leaf:it can be done will take along time cloning gels not that much but i understand if you cant afford it i put some cuttings in a water bottle with about a 1" of water they were growing can try adding a small amount of bloom might help. bongsmilie
