Cloning Tips

That makes sense..didn't know that.
I've never even cloned cannabis :) However I was a propagator for a greenhouse/nursery for lots of years and that is one of the first things I learned. We used sifted sand for rotting all clones and had about a 95% success rate. I wouldn't do cannabis any differently but I know people have a lot of successful methods. I would just stick to what I know.

Nono, just cuttings.
Ahh. had to be seeds or cuttings. I was going to say, finding a new batch of clones is tough these days. Just cutting from your own stock is good...helps keep bugs out too. Whenever you get new stock from someone else, seems ya gotta worry about bugs...

It is stupid question i guess, but how many clones one mother can produce at one time. For example i have a plant vegged for 2 weeks under MH 400 watt. Approximately how many clones can i take from it ?

Don't take this the wrong way but that's sort of like asking how many sli es can you get from a peice of pizza. I use a 20% rule to keep mom alive but I've seen some serious hack and chop surgeres performed on some big plants. My mom is 6 feet tall now for Nirvana's Ice and almost as wide she's almost 2 years old and yeilded literally hundreds of clones. She'll do hundreds more too if I'm nice to her.

Comparison with pizza, nice. The reason i'm asking this is because i want to do something similar to Heath's Robinson flooded tubes. He used about 90 clones in the system. So i'm looking for the way not to buy 100 seeds :]

I wouldn't take anything but yellowing leaves off of a plant 2 weeks in veg.

Thank you Buddy Ganga, i will have this in mind.

One more thing bothers me. For example i've taken clones from my mother, i've put them into ezcloner (or other cloner), under fluoros, time goes, clones are developing roots and everything goes right. How long can i keep my clones in ezcloner. Is there a moment when plants start to feel uncomfortable in that system, i don't know maybe because of root size or any other reason.

I never ask for the info in this forum because everything is already said, you have just to find it. But let me be weak this time.

Organicgold sorry for using your thread, i hope you don't mind :]

Once my clones have rooted I add a seaweed additive to my tub. A few drops per gallon will feed them for a week or so.. I also start a seaweed mist feeding every couple of days.

I see. And how long can clones live like that in ezcloner, getting only seaweed additive, under fluoros ? They can't sit like that in the ezcloner for a year, can they ?

Easy tiger :]

I got the answer. It's there if anybody is interested https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/478318-plant-too-young-clone-2.html
I wouldn't clone it yet.
Some would cut away at that top already but I'd wait another week or so.

It's better to wait until the leaves below the cut have matured a little.
That way the plant gets back to growing faster. If you cut before they grow out a little the branch will be stunned and new growth will be slow.
The cutting makes for a better clone as well.

The larger the cutting the better the chance of survival, but it makes for a much healthier plant.
