Ok so I decided to clone my 6 week old purple trainwreck plant (bought her as a clone from my local dispensary). I cut 27 clones 17 days ago.
Tools: cloning jel, brand new sterilized razor blade, cup of bottled water(super thrive mixed), jiffy pellets (also soaked in bottled water pellet mix), humidity dome, a box that I placed a hanging incandescent in to create heat, regular household CFL, and 300 watt incandescent equivalent CFL.
Process: I cut a clone then placed in water while i cut the rest. And repeat 27 times. Next I sliced the stem of each clone some and dipped in cloning gel and placed in pre-soaked jiffy pellet. And repeat 27 times. Next I placed clones in humidity chamber under twenty four hour light (household CFL). throughout the weeks I trashed 8 clones. (The stems were deteriorating from mold I guess) So I would mist them and remove lid for about fifteen minutes a day. I read in a thread that too much moisture for the stem is bad!? About five days ago I decided to put them into the clear dixie cups so that roots would be visible with in the new dirt (also red cups for the outside. so double cupped). So currently 17 days in, one clone has a visible root, the others, for the most part, are showing top growth yet no visible roots. The ones that yellowed out then began to grow(slowly) I have placed under the 300 watt and outside the humidity chamber.
What is going on with these clones? will they make it? why so long to root? As much advice as you can give I can read and accept. Thank you in advance.
