I have three gurles that are just hitting 10 weeks now are they to old or to young to start cloning..im not to sure when to start i now how to i just dont now when to start plz help...

thx is there such a thing as to late..as you cant clone nomore like in the flowering stage..basically when is to late?

You can clone as long as you are still in Vegetative state.
Once you switch to flowering (12/12 lighting) you probably don't want to clone that plant anymore.

Add pure water 2-3 days before cutting and you will be fine.....

I take clone's 2 weeks into flower all the time, you probably don't want to take it any later because the plant starts concentrating on buds,not vegitative growth.

because ur not suppose to..its recommended in veg and u can probably get away with it up to week 2 of flower but its still smarter to do it during veg

Try taking some clones off a vegging plant and then some clones off of a flowering plant.
The clones taken off the veg plant should root faster and begin growing faster, as well.
Its not that you CANT take clones off of a flowering plant, its just that there are much better ways to go about cloning.

Damnit I waited too long to clip my own... The obvious reason to take clippings before flowering is that once it starts to bud the selective process is much more difficult as you have to find good limbs...and they have bud on them...now which one dosnt have a bud that looks good so that your not just screwing up you previous specimens to make new ones. In the veg stages its just vegitative growth and will probably replace the clipping you took even before it makes it to the flowering cycle. THEN they form the buds and you dont have to butcher them.

pretty sure 20-24 hours not totally positive tho..i buy clones i dont really cut my own..here, hope this helps a little bit...
How to root your cuttings-So now you've cut and dipped your first batch of clones, stuck them in a medium, misted them, and put the clear plastic lid on the tray. Now put the tray under fluorescent lights, about six inches away to start with, moving them a little closer every few days.
I've rooted clones on the floor in my bedroom, and in many a veg room in the shade of a leafy mother. Both provide decent ambient light and a good temperature range. 24¡C is optimum temperature, but my experience is that as long as it's close to that it'll do. The clones must be warm but not scorched. Direct light will burn them because without roots the stem cannot supply the leaves with enough water to match the leaves' rate of transpiration.
Transpiration is a part of how the plant grows. Water and nutrients travel up the stem from the roots to the leaves, where they are used in photosynthesis. Tiny hairs called stomata sweat out the moisture to allow the stream of nutrients to continue flowing. Wind aids in transpiration by blowing the moisture off the stomata, which is why the lid is so important.
Another way to protect the stomata is to spray a light wax onto the cuttings. This slows transpiration to the point where you don't even need a lid, and the waxy coating serves as a protection against pests. I suggest you just try using a lid at first.
Remove the lid once a day and fan the cuttings with it for a few seconds. I also like to cut small holes into the corners of the lid so that there is a little ventilation, and I usually put holes into the corners of the tray to allow for drainage if the plants are over-watered. The roots need oxygen to thrive and survive.

Oasis Foam is my favourite medium because it is so airy and quick to dry, and it has the added bonus of having a neutral pH balance. Olivia's is my favourite rooting gel, although I've tried many and they all work. I find that just soaking the tray before planting is usually sufficient to sustain the cuttings until they are rooted.
There are a number of nutritional additives that may be added to this soaking, but my experience is that they are not essential. You might try Spray & Thrive, Nutriboost, Powerthrive, Superthrive, Olivia's cloning solution, a mild seaweed solution, or a plethora of other products. Plain water works well too.

Some strains will root this fast, while others may take up to ten days, or even two weeks. i dont understand??? who exactly says your not supposed to clone in flower its actually widely used to determine sex before rooting a batch of males. i do it all the time and never have a problem with rooting them its not the rooting its the time it takes to revert back to veg and see some growth if you have never done something i would suggest not giving advice on the matter for the fact not everything you read on the internet is true it mostly depends on the grower here is some of my clones i took from flowering moms 2 weeks after cutting they dont look bad to me lol.

where do you make the clippings? Just a major branch? I haven't been able to find anything on it. I'm soil growing the mother right now so in a while I'm planning on taking the clones and putting them in a hydro system. rep for who can help

lol stfu already..im so sick of RIU people like u, u dont even know who ur talking to..i dont care if i ever cut my own clones, i know my shit and i actually work with marijuana for a living and tend to clones on a daily basis..plus i've been growing for years and I KNOW for a fact your SUPPOSE to clone in veg..im not here to argue..i said SUPPOSE to..sure u can clone in flower but ur not SUPPOSE to so LOL to that lmao..i only give advice when i know what im talking about..and this guy isnt trying to determine sex so b4 u open your mouth maybe u should know what ur talking about

hahaha you prove the point for me i dont care if you been growing for 50 years if you have never taken your own cuttings from flowering or cuttings at all for that matter dont comment on it plane and simple!!! you hate people like me well im so sorry your ego is so easily bruised this is the reason i stay out of threads i have no business giving advise in i have never tried to give any advise on soil growing because i have never done it and never will not my area of expertise and for the record i hate little cry babies like you on this site who dont like some solid good advise good thing it isnt your thread hunh.
