Cinnamon for fungus gnat control

Yes I am a newb, or noob... noob... makes me think of boobs... oh, but yes, I am probably overwatering, and yes I am dealing with that, but for people who get them, this works to kill the food supply, the garlic and cayenne are supposed to repel them. I figured for things that are all natural and laying around the house I would give it a shot. One day I will be accomplished like you...one day...
Well done.
You pass.

i am trying cinnamon, garlic, and cayenne pepper in a coffee filter placed in the soil for gnats. thanks for the helpful post. CROSSING MY FINGERS

Let me know how this works! Have had a gnat problem for awhile now but plants are now in flower so Im going to kill these fuckers
I've made vinegar traps and put perlite on top of the soil. If this doesn't work I'm going to try other methods!

it should work for you too.. id be leery of putting cinnamon in the soil, but that doesnt mean that it wont work.. i just have never tried anything like that. id make a spray with a garlic powder and 1 tsp. of cinnamon in a spray bottle. or just buy some RIDBUGS organic horticultural oil

google it

Cinnamon is to kill the fungus the gnats larvae are feeding on. Unfortunately it also kills the beneficial mycorrhizae and trichoderma and what ever else it kills. The cinnamon doesn't kill adults but it sure fucks them up when it gets on them. Makes the grow smell nice for a bit but I did this several months ago and over all the most effective between , Diatomacious earth, cinnamon and Mosquito dunks the dunks where the most effective at terminating them.

i bought some stuff called nilgnat from ebay, sorted um out instantly, but im gonna try cinnamon next time
