Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin must be proud of their followers.

ADRIAN, Mich. - Nine suspects tied to a Christian militia in the Midwest were charged Monday with conspiring to kill a police officer, then attack the funeral in the hopes of killing more law enforcement people, federal prosecutors said.

Members of the group called Hutaree are charged in the case, including its leader, David Brian Stone. The suspects included six people from Michigan, two from Ohio and one from Indiana, officials said.

Once other officers gathered for the slain officer's funeral, the group planned to detonate homemade bombs with projectiles, killing more, the newly unsealed court papers revealed.

The charges follow FBI raids over the weekend on locations in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

The raids were prompted by Hutaree plans to stage "a covert reconnaissance operation for April which had the potential of placing an unsuspecting member of the public at risk," said Barbara McQuade, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan.

According to investigators, the Hutaree view local, state, and federal law enforcement personnel as a "brotherhood" and an enemy, and planned to attack them as part of an armed struggle against the U.S. government.

"It is believed by the Hutaree that this engagement would then serve as a catalyst for a more widespread uprising against the government," court documents said.

As we all smoke pot and know about the ridiculous (bs) charges we can go up against I will take this story in with a grain of salt.

The comment made about Beck & Palin adds nothing of value to this post,it just shows how ignorant the poster is.

Those on the far right are inciting violence. This seriously can no longer be denied.

Is it legal for me to say on national television that something needs to be done against the federal government? Of course it isn't - because when someone does something against the federal government, I will be held accountable because of what I said. Just like I should be.

Those who say these idiots should not be held responsible for the things they say are shifting the entire burden of the crime onto the people who committed it without realizing WHY they committed it, which leads to more violence being committed in the same exact way.

Fuck the federal government, I'm borderline anarchist and the last person to ever defend any government employee, but it's wrong to harm them, wrong to talk about harming them, and wrong to imply other people should do something about the situation.

You wanna defeat this shit? Grab a pen and start writing, start a movement (and not a stupid fuckin' tea party movement - wow!), get followers and make action happen, the legal way, the right way.

I wonder what led them to believe that murdering police officers was somehow a stand against the federal government. Police officers are just doing their jobs, if you have a problem with it, take it up with whoever is telling them how to do those jobs.

I see nothing in the article claiming these wackos are associated with the right/Beck/Palin.

Unless you are implying that all christians & militias are right wing violent fucktards.

I have no love for the government or cops, but these people should be made an example of.

LOL, the best part of the story is that the news called the leader by his three names (first, middle, last), they usually reserve that for after you've done some crazy shit like make a necklace from the genitals of your prostitute murder victims or park a rental truck full of explosives in front of a federal building and blow up the daycare center inside. Seriously, we have been trained to think the worst when the authorities call a suspect by his 3 names, it's a way to taint public opinion and a potential jury right from the start.

I have no love for the fuzz but this kind of shit is the reason half the cops are as dickish as they are. I wouldn't want that job.

Edit, forgot to link the groups website just for shits and giggles http://hutaree.com/
Nope don't see anything about Beck or Palin but I did notice these fucking idiots posted some seemingly incriminating shit on there

I think Rush, Coulture, Beck and others have an indirect effect on things of this nature. Their hateful, inciteful speach stirs up crazies like this. Of course we have a first amendment.

I have no doubt though if any of these right-wing talking heads directly spoke to their followers and incited them to violence, there would be many right-wing nut jobs who would gladly get out their guns and start shooting people. That is how fanatical some of these people are. Of course a direct appeal to violence would be illegal, right?

How many coppers were murdered anyhow?

I bet they are even caught on tape conspiring to use the N-word and to spit on elected officials.

This is brilliant.

Impeccably timed in the wake of the Health Care monstrosity being signed into law.

Publicity of this little raid serves to demonize the opposition, all the opposition - not just the religious wackos; and provides cover for the politicians home on Easter Break.

Whatever happened to Democratic opposition to preemptive strikes?

Where did I say that?

Where did I even imply it?

No coppers died. That's my point.

This peculiarly-timed raid segues nicely into key Progressive goals.

Muting the anti-health care opposition for one.

Demonizing the entire opposition, for another.

Providing a pretext for gun grabbers to promote more invasive gun control, for still another.

Those top the list.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but the OP made a point of singling out Beck and Palin even though the article cited never mentioned them.

And some clever Proggie editor made a point of stressing Right-wing in the title to a news article.

Nicely done.

But this ginned up, faux-hysteria is only fooling you.

Wow, where to even begin. No where in the news reports did it mention anyone using the "N-word" but you felt it relevant to bring it up, not only that but in some parallel universe you live in conspiring to kill cops is justified so long as no actual cops have been killed yet, collecting weapons, training to carry out attacks, and calling people to arms is fine, just don't do it till you do? WTF? All of that is on these peoples website, I linked it before. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but after looking at their website and posted materials they surely look like lunatic killer fucks.

Still can't get over the fact you brought up using the "N-word". What is your argument here.... Are you using this verbiage everyday and worried someone is gonna tell you not to? Welcome to the 21st century bro, quit thinking like a pre-civil war slave holder and love your country/countrymen regardless of skin-tone.
