Hey guys,

This is my first grow and I have narrowed my strain selection to Barney's Utopia Haze, Paradise's White Berry and DNA's Chocolope. I am planning on growing 2/3 strains, so which one would be the best for the 1st grow, easiest etc..??

I will be growing in a 3.5ft x 3.5ft x 6'7ft tent, with a 600w HPS, 6in inline fan

thanks brothas

White Berry!! It's so fucking awesome! And it's a breeze to grow, especially if you're wanting to dwarf using its photoperiod.

Thanks for the good and quick reply Dr.sex.fox. I have also heard incredible things about white berry and how it is just an overall pleasure to grow and smoke, but I have also heard Chocolope is also out of this world, in terms of how easy it is to grow and the smoke is one of the best (Ppl say it should have won the cannabis bup, but Green House is slimy and bought the cup) I know Utopia Haze is an incredible smoke, but is it easy to grow? The ease of grow is my deciding factor right now since all plants are incredible to smoke.

thanks again dude!

I am not sure, but I have grown Paradise Sensi Star and Nebula an dthose were two of my favorites. Only thing I have grown from Barneys was the Nightshade and it was real nice but no comparison to SS or Nebula

Well, of the three White Berry is the only one I've ever "theoretically" grown, so I really can't comment on the other two. I have heard good things though.

What's your setup like?

I grow chocolope and it grows pretty fast so far it takes well to topping, yeilds good, great stem to bud ratio and is very durable

I am going to assume you are growing indoors, if this is the case you may want to grow something shorter and faster your first grow... I am growing the Utopia Haze its a finnicky plant..... Was on the verge of death while everything else was doing good, then it got super tall out of nowhere. Looks like it will be good but its been far more challenging then my other more indica strains.... I wish I had waited a couple grows to tackle pure sativas

I have done a crazy amount of research and hypothetically I feel pretty prepared for growing, but, still this is my first grow and nothing is like practice. Knowing this do you have any strain suggestions that would be an awesome smoke, yet still be manageable?

As of know I plan on growing White Berry and Chocolope.

What's your setup like?
I will be growing in Soil, in a 3.5ft x 3.5ft x 6'7ft tent, with a 600w HPS, 6in inline fan

thanks eveyone for the great replies!!

i was going to say the same things the previous poster said about growing hazes.. some hazes can be finicky and don't take kindly to nutes and can get very tall and take forever to flower.. i am not trying to talk smack about hazes, i do love them and all sativa's, but like i was saying, they can be a lil trickier to grow.. i am wanting to grow one myself, but still want to get some more grows under my belt before tackling one of these strains..
the chocolope looks like some amazing smoke, and from the smoke reports that i have read, she is very fine indeed, and definitely worth a grow. don't know much about the white berry, but i would just say try to stick with an indica dom strain for the first few grows.. there are plenty of them out there... i just got sannies herijuana and am dying for my current grow to end to get these in the ground.. or maybe a kush strain would be a good place to start.. they tend to stay short, yeild nicely and arent too hard to grow.. another good one is nl5xhaze, although it has haze in her, she is nowhere as hard to grow as a pure haze would be...

Yea thanks for the advice, I'm def gonna stay away from hazes for my first. I was looking at reserva privada Kandy Kush or OG kush #18, i have heard incredible things about those two

Just researched all the strains you mentioned, both Kush's are known for their stretch, aka they get tall, the white berry from your original post is said to be of medium height and fast to flower, which seems like the best choice for a first grow... I personally am growing a handfull of strains, the easiest is my home grown fantaseeds cheese, short compact, easy to clone, my only issues is she's one stinky bitch!

i got Whiteberrys vegging right now, they gonna be moms.. anyways
5 seeds, 4 popped, the 1 that didnt i tried to scuff but i accidentally squished it so then 4 left, 1 of them broke the soil then stopped!! bang stopped dead and that was it.. so 3 left, all very uniform, they are basically growing themselves.. ah get nutes into 'em early cos mine got hungry real fast, they started yellowing very young so i just started pumping the nutes.. Like i said they all very uniform with FATTT leaves, like very wide fat fingered leaves.. the only variation ive seen is one shows heat stress way before the other 2.. and thats bout it.. they bout over a month old now

Ok, so I think for my first grow Im just gonna stick with white berry and Chocolope, unless there are any other killer strains?

thanks everyone!

i know your past your selection period on what to grow, but i felt that i had to add to this post.

First off Utopia haze is my favorite strain from what I have done, and I did it on my FIRST grow (along with Jilly bean, Sour cream, & cole train) and although it took a month or so longer to finish, it was by far the most rewarding treat from the first grow! Also in the process of keeping it healthy, i learned a LOT of things that have helped me since and the ONE thing I encourage first time growers to do, is to grow what you will enjoy smoking. If you enjoy the "Dick in the dirt" affect, go with a pure indica. If you enjoy uplifting highs, go with the sativa's! I am playing around with chocolope now and I gotta say, it is by far the fastest growing strain I have ever seen! Then again I only have limited experience (Add White russian, LSD and Bueberry to the list above) and I can only speak for myself, but with what I have learned, its much better to grow something you will enjoy instead of something that is easy. I think the saying goes "Don't always do whats best, do whats right"
