First Grow: Chocolope + Super Lemon Haze

Hey everyone! I’m new to these parts and I’ve finally started my first grow. I’m so excited to share it with you and hear all of your great wisdom. Here’s the setup:

Basics:
3x Chocolope
3x Super Lemon Haze
60x60x80” grow tent
2000W Full-Spectrum LED
DWC Hydro

Housing:
As mentioned above, I have 3x Chocolope and 3x Super Lemon Haze growing in a 5x5x6.5’ grow tent. Each strain is in a 55g light-proof storage bin. Each reservoir is running two 2x4” air stones split over a 480l/h air pump, one pump and two stones per reservoir. There is a 4” inline fan pulling 190 CF/M through a 4x12” socked carbon filter. Two 6” fans are clipped to the frame, one front left corner blowing across the tops of the bins, one back right corner blowing just below the light toward the opposing corner.

Parameters:
It’s still early yet (we’re only two days in the grow room), but the bins are full of ph-balanced tap water at about 6.1. The light is about 30” from the top of the pots. Temps right now are sitting at 77, humidity at 40%.

The seeds were rooted using paper towels and planted in Rapid Rooters. They were kept under T5 lights until the leaves popped out (about 30 hours) then we’re transferred to hydroton-filled 4” net pots suspended in the reservoirs. Currently, the water in the reservoirs is barely touching the hydroton in the pots with the bottom of the rapid rooter still being about 2” from the bottom of the pots. The bubbles are situated equidistant between the pots so water splatter should be hitting the hydroton nicely.

I plan to start nutrients in about two weeks, and I’ll be attempting a SCROG-type grow style.

I welcome any and all suggestions and critiques! I’m so excited to move forward!

HI
Great set up , i do dwc (waterfarm+hydro)
It’s better to put each plant in separate bulk also a lot of grower do wash their bulk until flowering your tank is really big .
But if you know how to get the water fresh all the time don’t worry .

Hey guys, just a quick question. All 6 of the seeds have sprouted and have two leaves. How am I supposed to know if the plants are “stretching” toward the light (requiring the light to be moved closer) or growing normally and just needs time to develop more leaves?

Thanks in advance!

Best,
Mark

One week in since planting the seeds in the rapid rooters and the seedlings look like they’re doing great! They’re about 3” tall now and growing their fifth and sixth leaves. Roots are starting to pop out of the bottom of the net pots. 100% germ rate!

I’m considering adding a 6-bulb T5 light with actinics to the system to push some extra blue light to these guys as they veg. Or adding a second full-spectrum LED. These lights look very red-dominant, even though I know they’re full spectrum. What do you think?

Here’s a pic from a few days ago.

Okay so added the first round of Humboldts Secret nutrients about 3 days ago. I’m getting a little yellowing and upturning of the leaves on one of the six plants. I’ll post a pic of that one to see what’s up in a bit, but here’s a progress pic of the SLH. Officially 11 days from seed germination.

pH: 5.8
Temp: 74
Humidity: 48%

I added a 48” 6-bulb T-5HO light to push some more blues into the plants. Might be coincidental since the 2000W LED is full-spectrum already, but growth is happening a lot faster now. There are 4x10k bulbs, 2x 5250 actinics 8x 2W Super Blue LED.

I think the humidity is running a little low, no? I may add a humidifier tonight until they grow some more and start evaporating water more intensely. Right now they’re still being top-fed and spraying down the sides of the tent three or four times a day.

Lifted the lid to show off the root progression. Water is still touching the pots.
