Chili and Garlic Spray?

Has anyone tried to use a chili pepper and garlic spray to kill and control insects? You would steep the chili peppers and garlic for several days before spraying the plant.

I use that combo for deer repellent w/ a little egg & milk. For bugs neem oil is only thing I use. A friend of mine commented on the chili & garlic...... " the deer just think it Mexican night" . This year it's 5' tomato cages

I saute them rather than steep them. :) Throw in some minced onion, a little salt and pepper... I'm not sure these have the same effect on insects that they have on us humans.
