Temps are down today to 71. It was cold and rainy here outside, plus my lady turned off the heater for some reason. I'm going to have to have one of those, "Babe, we need to talk" conversations and give her a quick scare.

The cherry pie are standing their leaves up more than the kgdp are right now. The kdgp are starting to get some yellowing to the lower bigger leaves that were all rigid when I got them. Maybe the nutrient solution I pretreated the coco with was a tad too strong for them or lacking something they were craving. Not worried one bit as the new growth looks just fine. Those are some of the backdraws to getting clones, transplanting and switching nutrients from whatever the hell they were in before at the dispensary.

Speaking of nutrients, here's what I pretreated the coco with and have been watering for the first 5 days:

(All measurements related to 1 gallon)
4ml Canna A & B
12ml Rhizotonic
3ml Cannazym
2ml MagiCal
Teaspoon of Great White

Next batch I mix up will be this and feed for 5 days before making more changes:

5ml Canna A & B
8ml Rhizotonic
3ml Cannazym
2ml MagiCal
2ml Silica Blast
Teaspoon of Great White

At least that's the plan, things may change the more I ponder. The Apache is going up on Friday. God, I've been fighting the urge to put it in there since I got up and running, but it would just be overkill at this point. Things should start to speed up around then too.

All smooth sailing so far. Let's keep it that way. Stay Classy RIU.

It is a pretty sweet meter. Amazon had a good price on it. Or you can just steal it, whatever works for you. Ah yes, I've seen a pretty big deuche running around these parts. I try to stay away from the jerks. I think we as an awesome community are able to outshine a couple bad apples.

Sweetness.. cant wait to see the apache.
Tomorrow my friend. Tomorrow...

This looks like one hell of a setup man! Glad to see you back in action, count me in!
Thanks alex! I'm pretty happy with the setup. Looking forward to getting a new light soon though...decision decisions...

What companies are you checkin' out? Im looking at replacing my spectra's before June to hopefully snag up a 2012 deal; Area 51 seems to be the one I keep going back to, but I would also like to see what other upcoming LED's are going to push the limits beyond what we now know.

I think area51 is a solid choice. Im supposed to be getting one of their new 2013 models whenever they are released. Also cant wait to see the new apache tech that they are making but no clue when that will happen. Not sure who else is releasing new stuff this year? If I get something other than a51 or apache, it would likely be something from california lightworks (thought I heard Rumors of a new clw being developed?) or the lumigrow pro 325. If I ever get more free time id love to try a diy panel, but I don't know shit about electrical so that would require tons of spare time and I put a high value on my time so thats more of a dream for me to build one myself. How are those spectras working for you? last I remember they were having issues with burning up the plants and irishboy/mike was selling growledhydro...whatever happened there?

Everything looks great, puff.

Though I read you are looking for some new christmas lights :bigjoint:? I scarcely remember you asking about DIY once upon a time... In light of that, I urge you to click here.

This is a 12x1w array with a built-in driver. It is made with Oslon SSL LEDs, those of which (I haven't asked yet...) can be customized to fit your color needs. Slap it onto a heatsink, attach a plug and watch the fireworks. I'm currently trying to fish up the link where you can buy them/find technical specifications...

The price for one array was $76, I believe, and that's without shipping.

EDIT: Click me!

Thanks hilo! Now that's what im talking about, definitely my kind of diy (doing as little as possible). So all i'd have to do is mount that bad boy to a heatsink? Whats the best way to mount it? Let me know what you find out about customizing the colors. Id want it a tad different. And what degree are those medium lenses any idea?

Hell yea... Id love to sit down and build my own lights.. I've even drawn out the build, ratios, led array- just have to find the time to order and build.. but, I have a tyke on the way- so, priorities.

California Lightworks has caught my eye several times, seems like theyve been keeping up for a while now. You know what AR's are doing different for 2013? I havnt signed up with their newsletter yet so I havnt gotten the wrap, maybe it'd be worth the extra buck.

As for the Spectra's- they're a love/hate thing.. forrr sure. lol I found em on ebay late 2011 and snagged em up, knowing of the bleaching issues but thought if I could get for the right price Id find out for myself, surprisingly I won them for...75.. 100 bucks cheaper than I was willing to pay, Im thinking this was because of all the bad wrap- I was so skeptical of them as I wanted all LED, of high quality, but read that Mike had gone so far as to sell the company!! lol dono what ever happened with that, but they are Spectra 100's- with 145 actual draw- 90*, all that good jazz. right when I got them, I was thrown off by how high quality the whole thing felt- just fuckin solid, but had no signs of a company's logo of brand... lol. you would think that if they're going to put this time and money into such a sturdy panel that they would want to advertise a schmig?

I have been able to get them to about 14" from the tops with beginning signs of bleaching, 18 is my constant sweet spot, no matter what, 'specially with those 90*'s from end to end of the panel- that's my only big complaint about em, wish they had a variety of angle's on there.. could've solved that bleaching issue, along with spreading the wavelengths over the kiddo's a little beter.

O.. and the color is horrible. Straight Magenta.. seriously. compared to any other LED I've ran or seen pictures of, these things are something else. Ive been considering those UV glasses for a while now, but not for 130 bucks... hellllll no.

Id like to get 2 AR-135 or 3 90's... it'd rock what I have now, and then give me some play room down the road.. maybe 3 135's if the price is right.. who knows.

Congrats on the baby coming soon! Glad to hear you have your priorities straight.

Not sure exaxtly what a51 has up their sleeves. I think new custom housing, new diodes, and more powerful and efficient. Where you at eraser?

Sounds like a good deal on the spectras. Happy they are working for you. Always heard good things about them other than the issues you mentioned.

Good luck with whatever you decide on replacing them with. Therr are a lot of great options now and things are only improving from here. Exciting times indeed.

This is a great leap in the DIY world, making it very accessible to many (no soldering required, top-notch LEDs, built-in driver...).

As for attaching it to a heat sink: Click me!
"to stick it to the heatsink ....
Easy and : Thermal resistance : 2.9W/mK/cm² !!!!!
Operating température from -20°C to 155°C

For 60x50 MCPCB..
One sticker/pad ,for two led engines ( 30x50 mm ) .... " -SDS

I could not find the degree of those lens. Though, I have sent an inquiry regarding the lens, whether or not I can buy the module separately, customizing spectra and what size heatsink they'd recommend for passively cooling it. I'll keep you updated!

Already lost me! Ha, maybe diy even at the lowest level isn't for me. I feel pretty dumb right about now. Thanks alot hilo!

Yes, please keep me posted on what you find out. I would be willing to learn what id need to in order to mount those puppies.

Thanks guys, it's our first so we're pretty stoke.. unnerving, but I am just ready for 'em to get here!

Brother Dawg... Buddy Puff...!! we could build our own panels! don't dishearten yourselves like that. I know guod's intense level of knowledge has always thrown me wayyyyy the fuck out there in "..........uhm...what?" world, but all I have done is follow and read the Veteran's posts on RIU since I have looked into panels.. and growing for that matter, there's so much shit on here its outrageously educational- it just promotes the legalization exponentially in itself.

Yea.. there could always be more information on the more...basic things.. but we gotttt thisss. Stardust.. Guod... Eraserhead... Hilo..thank you for all your continuous input- hell... even Fran knows a thing or two ;)

Brings me to another point... you guys all contribute quite a bit here.. and I am all about giving credit and sourcing- You guys rock. Fuckin RIU.
